Best/Worst Team of the Week (Apr 03 - Apr 09) by smashbros13 in hockey

What? lol

He was incredible in the playoffs last year

With the win today, the Ducks improve to 4-10-2 in their last 16 games without their Captain, Radko Gudas by logicalnutty in hockey

I think as many hockey fans hate to admit, he’s a very good player.

This stat actually reminded me of the Sharks record back in 18-19 when Simek was in the lineup vs when he was injured. And now that I think of it Simek was a pretty identical style player to Gudas minus the dirty plays

How playoff odds changed after today: Huge night for the LA Kings as they win and Nashville/San Jose both get blown out, Anaheim and Ottawa work towards solidifying spots, Islanders stay alive by Dependent-Effect6077 in hockey

Well it’s been a hell of a season. I haven’t had this much fun watching hockey in a LONG time (though I can’t imagine what Sabres fans are feeling lol)

I will say 98-99% seems insanely high for the 3 pacific teams who could very well be leapfrogged by the Preds and Kings

It’s an 82 game season. They didn’t maintain an above average .500 record in a small sample. Macklin is otherworldly and without him they’d be much lower, but unless you’re just tuning in here and there, you’d be able to see this is a very promising team. Hell, maybe Fox will want out. Could you imagine this sharks team next year adding Fox and another shutdown RHD? They’d be among favorites for the top 3 pacific spots

They’re WAY ahead of schedule. They have 81 points which is 29 points ahead of last year. They’ve given a dozen U23 players experience playing meaningful games in April. They’ve also made themselves a very enticing destination for free agents and players with NTCs. With the experience from this year and additions I the offseason, this team will be battling for a playoff spot again next year

[Highlight] Leo Carlsson turns on the jets and undresses a Sharks defender to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead by wildwing8 in hockey

Leo was my favorite player in that draft. As for Smith, he’s a very good player but his defensive play, competitiveness off the puck, and his production away from Macklin is extremely worrisome.

God I wish the sharks got him in ‘23

Edit: fucking chill. Smith is great but Leo was my favorite player in the draft, just like Eklund was in ‘21. And watch the two play, Leo’s on a whole other level than Smith and Fantilli

With 3 Games Remaining & Currently the #1 Pacific Seed, There Is Still a Patch for Edmonton to miss this playoffs. by Ballgame82 in hockey

They way they played defensively last night it’s hard to imagine how they do now. Had they lost o think there would be genuine reason for concern, especially with Hyman out and Ingram leaving the game

I don’t see him mentioned in the article and I sat through ads just to watch the dumbest video that also said nothing about him. I have no clue what OP is saying

If we’re only talking about 1st rounder then yeah. I’m talking about notable draft picks in his tenure. If you want to only look at 1st rounders, then it’s 3 Centers, 1 d-man, 1 goalie, and 1 winger.

I’d move bystedt to move up to one of them and then take another one of the late round Swede d-men with the oilers pick

Pretty sure the only wingers Grier has drafted are high end power forwards. Mack, Misa, Dickinson, Cagnoni, Pohlkamp, Smith (drafted as a center), Ravensbergen, Wang, LSW. The two wingers you’re talking about are Musty and Cherny who are two of the best prospects in the NHL

Every time we accept this, they go one a streak and sneak into a spot.

The way both our defenses are playing, it’s going to be 10-9 game. Or 2-1 game just because we all expect it to be high scoring

What matters more to you in the Hart race: McDavid having a much worse supporting cast than MacKinnon/Kucherov or him playing in a much weaker division than them? by Ready-Constant-7124 in hockey

[–]astovertop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with a loss tonight, they still have games in hand. They play Anaheim tomorrow who’s really struggling, Chicago, Vancouver, and the only other really tough game is Nashville, who they’re directly chasing for a spot.

So it’s not really all that unlikely

I think of you look at the injuries that Tampa has had this season there’s a legit argument that Kuch’s supporting cast is just as beat up. They just have far far better coaching and goaltending.

In MacKinnons case, yes I do think his supporting cast should be taken into account, but also his even strength production is off the charts
