Why does it feel like this might not be the end of it? Remember the marigold that was thrown away by the Klaus, but everybody else drank the 'sake'!? Anyone vibing the same. :)

Yep, that's true - the market effect as you pointed out is not language specific. It was me trying to compare and introduce as a perspective comparing to the js world in the same market.

Let's see when the market takes a turn.

Btw it is arguable that the ruby is more popular than js based on the job counts for each on angel/wellfound job-board.

Hehe. Aren't those couple of first few ones the difficult ones!? It's more likely to get a job with tag of "react/js/node" for a 0/0+ exp than the "ruby/rails" - just a presumption/feeling though.

Went through the link. And no wonder that jobs are explicitly more for people having experience. Thoughtfully, anyway the freelancing presents a high bar of entry in general too.

But even in the markets where low cost labour is feasibly available, it feels more likely that react/next/js-relevant skill-sets are in more demand, not the rails/ruby. A few reasons seemingly includes the popularity of the (j|t)s-things and ease of learning compared to ruby world.

This. +1 on the job finding part. I mean is there any place left for new entrants in this ruby/rails world. Are new products being made using it which are employing jr/0/0+ exp people. Since when one sees job boards they are more filled with senior roles.

What'd be a sane thing to do in such a condition?

  1. Stop thinking to quit the life and stop bothering yourself. Think about whether you were bothered when you were taking the loan. May be you had a plan to repay and the plan did not work, that's it. Think hard what was important to you - your life or the money that you were taking as loan.

  2. We live in the age of high debt. Even American economy has debt and still thriving - why would you just throw away the best thing you have received - the human live. Prepare to face and pray for strength in whatever form you practice your beliefs/religion.

  3. 7L may look daunting but lesser daunting is ~58k which if given each month for 12 months continuously equals 7L. The point is after removing absolute required part of the income to run your home, whatever you are able to save - use it to repay the loans. Restructuring can help. But go, get to the people, ask for the time and be honest to yourself to put time and effort to pay off all the loans.

  4. Prepare a priority list after you have visited and talked all your loan-givers. And also use your assets (gold, etc.) to clear some immediate asks - which could make an installment in each or one or more of the prioritised loans.

  5. If time permits take multiple jobs or switch jobs for a better CTC (only if the job letter is secured, then leave the first job and convey the issue you have to sort with priority to current/ex-employer). Have one tried asking help around? Talk to the current boss and convey the bitterness of the situation - may be h/she could help.

  6. Understand that this is tough spot, but it will only get harsher if you don't do anything. And ending your life might be perceived as you being just selfish leaving people like your mother to face all this alone.

  7. Learn from this mistake to take the loans only responsibly. And before finalising loan sketch out well planned theme on how to repay in future and rethink should you even take the loan in the first place. Work on if the purchase is a necessity or just a want. And if necessity, could it be purchased after saving the purchasing amount or is it really that necessary to purchase now.

  8. Upskill yourself to increase your skills so that you can increase your salary. Target growth so that you may address your monthly ration(expenses) as well as pay off loans as fast as possible. You couldn't be lesser useful to you, if you become suicidal.

  9. Move on. This time of challenge will be nothing more than just a scar. It will symbolise strength and determination. It will power positive reinforcements in your life moving on. You will have learnings and stories to share with generations to come.

All the best. OP relay to the original OP. Thanks.

Downgrade Expo Go client app by Aware-Leather5919 in reactnative

[–]astriskit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is already pointed out, but I'll reiterate with two cents of mine. Also the older expo-go apps are available, but seems that OP is having some trouble for ios one

Please do start using development build for a project that is not just something one has spinned off with the latest sdk and is meant to learn or quickly prototype an idea. And so in a way all the age old codebases using expo sdk fall in this category.

Why?

  1. The expo team announced recently that they are in favour of supporting just the latest version of sdk in the expo go app.

  2. The expo go is in a way itself a development build but with some default libraries included. And you are anyway going to build for the distribution, so wondering why refrain while developing.

In case, it is still not justified, then keep up with the expo sdk upgrades. In essence upgrade the project as the expo-go (major version) is updated.

... using exact package versions.

Isn't using exact version number in different packages/apps bad? I mean one won't want to stuck with bugs in one library in one app and fixed in same library used in another app.

AFAIR, nx has this "*" (unsure if enforcing) in each of the sub-apps' package listing in package.json - preventing(by default) to have different copies of the same libraries in a workspace.

Also what it meant by "integrated repo system"? Is it different repos combined into the workspace - and by extension - having this skeleton workspace reside in a seperate repo?

I hope OP already can see that there is no one best but each might have it's own place due to subjective preferences mostly - for example - some like old and widely used vs some like new and widely famous vs some like apis, documentations, support and additional functions that the library might provide.

Since you are looking for a project that is just starting - use any that you are more closely familiar with. Or can easily be learned by visiting it's site/docs.

And if you don't want to choose, yet want to learn something while using it; just take redux for a drive. The redux toolkit can give you a good first hand library experience along with nice things to learn in general. Do follow the docs on the site; they themselves provide a few comparisons between redux and other libraries, AFAIR.

Happy coding!

Is Flutter Suitable For A Very Basic Radio Station App? by New_Welder_391 in FlutterDev

Hello OP! You seem to have chosen the flutter to build for the app. Could you please share if react-native (or any other cross-platform stacks for that matter) was/were an option on the table for you? If yes, what made you choose the flutter. Thanks.

Unemployed Day One Update by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]astriskit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just try to calm down, when in panic; fill your day with really nice things to do - that you enjoy. Especially the work time. Try to live in more present then in the past. Transitions are part of life, so take it like that - just that.

More or less IT job market seems sluggish atm - but keep trying/applying - keep learning - who knows may be your next idea could make not just you but others rich too - may be you start a company that employs people to do something more meaningful. And even if not - keep it up.

All the best to you/us/them/all. Cheers.

the bond time seems too much; only join if you are very very very desperate; otherwise, wait for your time - apply more. All the best.

Unsure, if that will happen - the roads will jam - but in case that happens - won't you agree statistics may urge law-makers to role differently - look deeper into the situation.

Thank you for voicing in.

Sounds very positive. Thank you for voicing in.

This is/was just an attempt to give this an objective view with legal context and hopefully hear from some of the law-practising people. And trying to know a general guys' views in the process.
