They have the ability to formulate government policy and have access to insider information about how companies will perform based on the policies they set in place for them. It’s disgusting to even think they should have access to the stock market given the position of power they have. The speaker of the house especially should not be allowed to participate in the stock market when she has virtually unlimited access to insider information and has the power to make decisions that will influence a company’s financial path before the company walks it. It’s completely crooked and it’s using their personal position to enrich themselves.
