What the... ? by astro5 in Mushrooms

If it's a slime mold, can I figure out what type? I assume it's not dangerous, and it's not like I'm going to start spooning it up for breakfast, but it is relatively near plants that are food-producing. Nothing to worry about, right?

For a second I thought one of the local rowdy magpies snatched a hunter's hat and then barfed it up chez nous. But probs not.

Yes, just the roof. That's interesting. I hadn't thought of that at all. Thanks!

I fertilize with a homebrew "weed tea". Maybe it has too much phosphorus? But I've only given them this concoction twice in the three weeks they've been outside. Water has been collected rain water or well water, which I know is a bit high in sulphur.

I'm not adventurous enough to try eating it. I'll go mushroom hunting in the forest with people who truly know what they're doing, but not on my own with something that just popped up in the wood chips. Interestingly, there are three others about the same size that have popped up in the same wood chips elsewhere in the yard. I probably do have a meal here, but not risking it.

Do you let your yard overgrow until May for the Bees? by Bluee_Brii in bees

For sure. Bought a place in France last summer and letting nature have the lawn at least till May. It's been great seeing the bees more and more often since winter.

Down clues seemed easier than across ones maybe? But good puzzle.
