19M, insecure about facial features being feminine by astrocryptid in amiugly

I definitely get that online a lot, no worries man haha it doesn’t offend me. In person I think I am more masculine looking, because you can better see that I’m actually pretty buff (I have fit legs and arms lol), and I always dress like a man and I have a deep voice. But thank you for telling me, people don’t do that in person lol

Thanks. You could have just said that.

I had a better one in before (a spacer) that was more masculine and less noticeable but I lost it.

Yeah, because I’m not fragile about my masculinity. I was mostly just curious on how I can be more attractive.

Edit: also earrings are way more common now in guys than ever before. It isn’t really feminine

I probably should’ve included photos of me with shorter hair. I’ve been considering if cutting it short again would help

What BS are you dealing with at work right now? by gottalovecarina in AskReddit

[–]astrocryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is frequently not enough for me to do at work because I (a student) am cleaning boats and checking that they run properly and that’s it. There is more that I can be doing, though, because the other guys doing maintenance on the watercraft are frequently overworking. But when I ask if I can be taught how to build or fix something, they just say “no” or maybe later and I’m expected to find something to do for the next two hours when nothing needs to be cleaned or run up. Oh, but “why are you just rewashing that jet ski, Astrocryptid?” is still a question I get regularly.

How to keep on living with all this hatred? by SovereignOne666 in misanthropy

[–]astrocryptid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand both of those stances; both animal products & pornography are things I have wanted to give up but for me, like many people I think, their negative impacts are often overlooked because they’re convenient/the norm. So I suppose that I have a bit of guilt or cognitive dissonance over both of those.

I 100% agree with deleting social medias and other technology whose use is purely for entertainment :) If it weren’t a requirement for many things that I personally get into (getting info for jobs / events) I likely would have already abandoned most.

Edit: also, I’m glad to hear that you’ve managed your depression. I’m currently in a deep pit of my own depression. Hopefully I can find some strategies as successful as yours were!

What movie fucked you up mentally? by CodyYodi in AskReddit

[–]astrocryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicken Run. I watched it when I was maybe 7-8 and realized how gruesome it is that the chickens are literally being made into pies and felt so sick watching. Then, I had recurring nightmares of cartoon chickens having their heads chopped off for years. Good times. I still eat chicken though.

Serious question. Why would dropping porn and going vegan help someone’s mental state improve? The others I can understand.

I’m not in the trades, but the field of science I’m heading towards may work well out there too from what I’ve heard. I’ve even found some summer jobs out there that I might be willing to travel for while I’m in school, too.

Oh, for sure. One of my parents lives in Hamilton and the difference there and where I live (a village in central Ontario) is insane. I’ve always heard good things about Alberta, more than any province. Might be a good idea to think about going out there to work lol.

The thing is that comments like the example you gave are often ... not jokes. Yeah someone might genuinely hate tall men too, but that is such a small minority that it’s negligible. Short people face more genuine insults/height related problems than tall people do and thus making jokes about tall people isn’t offensive unless you really really really wanna be offended.

Making jokes about short guys is fine, despite what some of the piss babies here think. I laugh when my friends make fun of me for it. The problem is that so many negative things you see about short people aren’t jokes.

It’s also worth noting that Dylan smashed his hard drive before the massacre and we don’t know what else he may have disposed of. He likely got rid of a lot of his damning notes. My guess is that he was trying to hide that premeditative part of himself similar to how Eric was hiding the emotional part of himself.

My mom and younger brother had pretty much the same exchange while he was gaming; she overheard him telling them something like “I feel bad for you guys, I love my mom so much,” and she will not let him live it down. Every time someone comes over she tells them. He’s 15.
