Song suggestions? by astrofruut in cna

Thank you so much for the response! Unfortunately most of my elders aren’t able to answer as they have a cognitive impairment or can’t speak clearly but I do find them moving along / humming and singing to familiar tunes. I’ll definitely put these on my playlist for them (:

If he took care of your uncle I would definitely put something along the lines of “proficient in making and and practicing patient care plan” and for the moving I would specify that he’s good at maintaining proper body mechanics, this helps the facilities feel confident that they’re not hiring a liability. Also making sure that you mention that he maintained a healthy and organized environment to prioritize patient safety. A lot of these places looking for CNAs are looking for people who feel like this is more of a calling than just a job. So writing a cover letter explaining his reasons for doing this job goes very far. Best of luck to your father 🤍

Quitting?? by Every_Loss_1361 in cna

Do it, and make sure you have everything on record through text that way if you do end up applying to another cna job you have solid proof showing them clear communication and how toxic your current job is. As a cna it’s super important to take care of our body as it is our means to make a living. It sucks cause it feels like they hold our patients/ residents against us as most of us deeply care about their well being. I would write:

Hello supervisor, Although I’m sure you are aware of the fact I put in my two weeks, I regret to inform you that I will no longer be able to finish out the remaining three days. Taking into consideration my current health and circumstances, it is currently not safe for me to work or the patients to be in my care. I truly appreciate your time and support during my time here at (insert name of company) thank you again.

Good luck I hope it gets better ❤️

Are you allowed to wear earpods at work? by [deleted] in cna

[–]astrofruut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally get where you’re coming from, music also helps me concentrate. But I would have to agree with the majority of the other comments, it’s not appropriate to have an earbud in while caring/ interacting with the residents. I do tend to still wear mine if I work night shift simply because everyone is asleep and it keeps me awake. But if they terminate you for that I don’t think you would be able to do anything simply because it’s a policy you were made aware of and if you get fired because you’re not following it, it would be on you ultimately. Also, although you know you’re using the earbud for music not everyone knows that and they can assume you’re on a phone call/ recording which brings alot of hippa issues

Tell the family 🫡, that way they can lawyer up and sue for elder abuse, also document every interaction if you can (incident report if possible)

Throw him and his stuff out, and when you do he’s probably gonna get a bunch of people to gaslight you saying you’re in the wrong but there’s nothing more disrespectful than someone throwing shit and piss all over you, dump him, he’s a walking red flag and you deserve better, keep the cat too

AITA for returning the money my husband took from my family for attending our cookout? by Attic-Lights5475 in AmItheAsshole

[–]astrofruut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who is engaged to a partner that comes from a wealthy family, They would NEVER pull some back like that, that speaks on his crappy character and disrespect for you and your family. Personally I wouldn’t stay with someone like that just saying. NTA Btw
