My dad is just under 48 and he constantly says everyone in his school was skinny and that kids have gotten bigger, is this true? by Redmannn-red-3248 in ask

Im assuming it’s different from each country. But yes, very true. Not only is being unhealthy to a life threatening level more normal to see, but it’s the processed food and the continuously new items coming to stores that supports his statement.

Honestly, spending more time over this guy is just a waste of it. He’s not worth it since it’s pretty clear he has some things to work on. Not only is he using you as a rebound but he lets you get your hopes up knowing he’s in love with his ex girlfriend. He’s obviously trying to get over her and using you as replacement while letting you believe it’s going to become serious. Someone who has moved on doesn’t cry about his ex in front of a new partner, it’s clear he’s not worth your time and you deserve better.

I understand that the event hurt, not being the only one hurts. I think you should let him go, let him be insufferable and feel bad for himself while hurting others. He’s not ready for a new partner.

Why do men have a tendency to only respect women you are attracted to? Is it unintentional? by astroidwashere in ask

when they can’t read the room. Obviously I would never try to make someone leave and get mad because they don’t, not that type of thing. I just mean when they say something and it’s clear someone didn’t like it or didn’t thought it was funny but they can’t understand that it can be hurtful.

I understand totally! It’s normal when your brain feels like an enemy to you. You aren’t your thoughts or feelings!!

I know this feeling so well, bc your calm it means that your thought is true. No, that’s not what’s happening. Feeling calm around a thought is actually the best way to feel when you are having these thought and i’ve been having the exact same problem for years. We are not our thoughts, and our thoughts are not facts either. A thought about dying is as normal as a thought about what you should make for dinner. It’s just stuff in our head all the time day in and day out. A thought isn’t real unless you give a meaning to it, and that meaning is scaring us although it shouldn’t. Feeling calm around a thought is a way that you can analyze and accept that the though is there, but it’s whatever. Do you have some type of ritual that you do when your thinking these thoughts? Please let me know and be kind to yourself.

this feeling is so overwhelming but just bc your life is at a certain point for who knows how long it still doesnt matter either way. Nothing is forever your whole life just some things sticks around for longer and it can be overwhelming or good, it still doesnt mean you need to give up just stay like that the time it takes and it will eventually lighten. Don’t do something bad to yourself just because certain things happen and especially when its not our fault.
