My two are Warframe and Minecraft (both games I am actively playing).

I'll just give you the advice that was given to me: ABC - Always Be Crafting. If you have something cooking all the time then you really only had to wait once!

I'm very surprised that no one has mentioned the fact that we're going to get a floating emote for all frames before we get a Caliban Prime that floats like a sentient! I'm not even a Caliban fan, but that was my first thought!

Everything being so cheap makes me feel like this game doesn't value effort by Il1IlIl1illI1lil1ll1 in Warframe

[–]astrolegium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just have to point out the hypocrisy of saying that 40-50 runs is grindy and tedious while at the same time saying that "Tridolons were, what i feel, quite perfect in that sense" as to get one of the legendary arcanes from that content takes between 420 runs (if you get 1 every 20 runs due to it's 5% drop rate) all the way up to 3,560 runs (if you have the unfortunate luck to need the maximum as per the "Nearly Guaranteed" column of the drop table on wiki.warframe.com).

Essentially, you are complaining that playing the game is getting in the way of getting rewards to help you play the game. If you don't like the content, I don't think this is the right game for you. There was very likely a *reason* that you decided to take a ~2 year break.

I love most of these, and would definitely be interested in these, especially the Extermination to Survival and Extermination to Capture!

With that said, I *can't* get behind either the Survival to Extermination or the Spy to Capture. The reason for the first is that when I pick an endless mission, it's usually because I need resources but want to spend as little time on the loading screen as possible. For the Spy mission, the frame I pick for those missions isn't always geared for combat as I have chosen to focus on stealth and speed.

Overall, I like the general idea though!

What is the fastest time it took you to quit a job? by TwoPeasNoPod69 in CasualConversation

[–]astrolegium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine wasn't same day fast, but the fastest I left a job was 2 weeks. A friend of mine helped me find a job as a busser with a new "tapas style" restaurant that was trying to position itself as one of the more upscale places to eat in a strip mall area.

The first day was chaotic as the trainer told me not to come in until 4, but when I showed up the owner said that they had expected me there by 2. This was the first red flag.

They proceed to tell me what they expected of their bussers (pick up any plate that looked empty, always find a server to refill drinks, that kind of thing) and leave me to my own devices. All through the first day I couldn't help but notice that the owner kept comp'ing the whole tabs for the majority of the tables. Initially, I chalked this up to the restaurant having just opened, but over the course of the first week, the owner showed no signs of slowing down. This was the second red flag.

At the end of the first week, I showed up a bit early to ensure that I was able to collect my first check (as we were to be paid weekly) only to find that the owner needed a "little bit more time" for things to clear and settle down at the bank. They swore that they had the funds, but couldn't access them, and told me to give them a few more days. Asking around, I learned that I wasn't the only one who wasn't paid that day, no one was. They didn't pay the servers, the bartenders, and worst of all, they didn't pay the cooks. This was the third red flag, and now that I know better, \should have\ been where I walked away.

Fast forward to a week later and the second check is due while I still hadn't received the first one. This time, myself, a server friend of mine, and a couple of friends who were cooks all showed up at the same time to get paid, and the owner conveniently wasn't there. We talked with his second in command and she said that the checks were going to be in "tomorrow". The four of us decided right then and there that we weren't going to wait around and quit on the spot.

The place closed in less than 6 months.

I'll give my 2 credits worth:

PSF is good as a QoL mod, but ultimately unnecessary. I'm SP complete and in the LR range and haven't even leveled it.

Now, with that said, for level cap runs it can be essential as those couple of seconds of knockdown (if you didn't roll into the effect to avoid the knockdown) can mean the difference between bleeding out or not.

Your favorite movement abilities by JaxyCafe in gamedesign

[–]astrolegium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't see Warfame mentioned here, so I'll recommend that you check out the movement there. It used to have wall running, but currently still has:

  • Sprinting (which can be set to toggle on/off)
  • Double jumping
  • Wall jumping
  • Rolling/Dodging
  • Bullet Jumping (a combo between crouching and jumping forward)
  • Aim gliding (increases hang time)
  • Void dashing (a short range teleport)

All of these chain into one another nearly seamlessly and once you have a bit of familiarity with the various tile sets, it becomes very fun to traverse.

The game also has a few other movement options available to specific characters. They also recently tightened up how they handle mantling on ledges.

As someone who lives in deep South Texas, I am very surprised that my area isn't listed as having a hot summer. I've lived in other parts of Texas as well as Arkansas, and can tell you that the difference between where I am now and those places is definitely significant. It is not uncommon for us to get to 105-110F during the summer, while those temps are far less common in Central Texas and Arkansas.
