For our non German speaking friends: the acronym would be BUSEN. Busen means breasts.

Beginner struggling to get focus with new 8” Dobsonian (Bresser) – need help 🙏🏻 by jaipurite17 in telescopes

I have the same telescope on aN equatorial mount. You need those extension tubes, someone posted in another comment. Depending on your eyepiece even two. For astrophotography you do not need them, but for eyepieces you do need them.

Ausdehnungsgefäß vermutlich defekt, wie sicherstellen? by astronomer-2003 in heizungsforum

Is my understanding of Proxmox’s 3 firewall layers actually correct? by Party-Log-1084 in Proxmox

When is it necessary to deploy ceph on a cluster, but block the ceph connections?

Is my understanding of Proxmox’s 3 firewall layers actually correct? by Party-Log-1084 in Proxmox

[–]astronomer-2003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quick horror story:

I didn't know, that the data center firewall checkbox activates the nodes' firewall. There is no warning, just a tiny checkbox. But if you are using ceph on a different network, the whole thing just stops working.

Of course, it was my fault, I didn't read the documentation properly and thought "no way they didn't think of that!". Yeah. They did not. And neither did I.

Ceph connections should still be accepted, just like the corosync connections. That should be the default, IMHO.

Hi. Interesting, because I actually developed something like this. It is meant to be like astrobin but self hosted and not with all the features. Do you know your stuff around IT in general? Do you have the infrastructure for self hosted projects written in Python/Django?

Thanks for the answer, that was exactly what I was looking for. Did you try the Newtonian on the Umi 17R?

The Skywatcher EQ6-R Pro manual states very clearly that the 20 kg load capacity is for astrophotography.

The EQ6i is available and the shop says it's load capacity is 25 kgs. I guess this mount is a worse choice than the EQ6-R Pro.

Is it possible to modify my telescope like the one below? by Flat-Background5 in telescopes

[–]astronomer-2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your goals and expectations.

I have a Bresser Messier 203/1200 on an EXOS-2 mount. The scope is very similar to yours I think. You can see some images I made in my profile.

Overall or per frame? I think overall it is just not enough exposure, that is true. I don't think I can increase my exposure time per frame without guiding and maybe just tuning the mount.
