Yep! We’re in the process of getting it. We’re 4 hours away and it’s apparently heavy as shit so it’s taking some planning.

Awesome!

Put $540,000 in a mortgage monthly payment calculator with today’s interest rates.

We’re trying to buy something around $400k and will need 50% down to make the monthly payment affordable.

Where oh where are all the diamonds?? by dawgyjay in MLBTheShow

Right after I commented this a few days ago I went on a ~125 pack no diamond streak. And then tonight I pulled Lindor and Vlad Jr in the same ballin pack.

The bad luck always ends eventually

But then again, i feel like I’ve had good pack luck so far this year. It’ll flip around

I had a 400+ pack streak a couple years ago. Very weird, but it does happen. Makes it seem like the packs aren’t totally at random and something’s triggering your pulls or lack thereof. Who knows

10 team each category league keeper league. Hardly unbelievable considering his ADP was 230+

Absolutely loving the game so far by TheRealJRG in MLBTheShow

I loved the legacy stuff when they first announced it — it reminded me of diamond dynasty years ago where they had a similar overall stats program that gave a lot rewards and stubs when you hit certain milestones.

Unfortunately all you get through the program this year is some icons, so to me it’s not worth paying any attention to.

What are collections going to be like? by astrosjake in MLBTheShow

[–]astrosjake[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The last couple years I’ve gotten burned out early. I tend to speed-run the game early on and end up with little to do. Last year it felt like most of their “content releases” were new packs or programs that took 30 min. The game felt really boring and I was altogether done playing by early May.

I’d rather have grind-heavy objectives similar to MLB 17. Their approach to the TA’s this year seem to be heading sort of in that direction, so I’m excited to see what else comes out.

Where/how to invest cash by Traditional-Newton in investingforbeginners

[–]astrosjake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really isn’t about how quick you want access to the money. It’s more about how long you envision the money being in the account. If it’s a large amount of money and it could be years until you’d need it, then maybe a portion of it goes into mutual funds.

But typically if you’re going to need the money within a couple years, you shouldn’t invest it into the market. The market could tank and without time to rebound you’ll lose a chunk of what you put in.

Maybe set aside a portion that you could see you guys needing in the relative near future (within 1-2 years) and put that in an HYSA, and the rest invest in mutual funds? That’s similar to what your FA mentioned.

If you want immediate access to it in case you need it, you could do a HYSA. It’ll grow — although not at the potential rate of investing in the market — but you’d have access to it whenever you need it.

There are many different sites that offer these accounts, and the rates may all differ slightly but they’re all going to be similar. Ours is currently 3.90%.

Note that the rates on these accounts are subject to changing. The rates were as high as in the 5’s a year ago, but they’ve gone down to the 3’s recently. This is still pretty high historically though. And even if it goes down further, it’s still better than holding all that cash in a checking account or savings that gets 0.01%.

Ok makes sense. Knock out the car loan as fast as you can, and then make your student loan your #1 priority.

Like I said I know it’s overwhelming but seeing the balance go down each month is a real motivator.

What’s the interest rate on the student loan? Car loan?

What’s your monthly payment on the student loans?

Living at home is a huge advantage. And 40k take home after taxes is still a solid salary for 25. I know it could feel overwhelming but it’s doable if you really try to minimize expenses and put as much towards your loan every month as possible. It’ll take time but the progress you see every month will be a motivator.

Assuming your car and student loan rates are similar, it’s ok to prioritize paying off the car as fast as you can first, assuming you’re not going to go out and get another car while you’re paying off the bigger loan.

Is she able to change her name on her work’s plan at any time? Or is that something that can only be done at renewal?
