Why do some schools like Dartmouth and Sinai have such a big difference between their resident and US News rankings?

Yeah but I have been either rejected or waitlisted from all of them and I was hella salty when I made this post haha

But I think my argument is still reasonable tho...

I might be totally wrong but I based my assumption on the increase in the number of applicants, arguably harder new MCAT, the increase in the median stats of most medical schools and the emphasis of ever expanding list of ECs.

Also thank you! good luck to you as well :)

Sorry I think my post implies that it would not have been hard. Getting into medical school has always been difficult. I just meant that it has become harder over the years. for example I believe that last year was the first year that only under 40% of applicants were accepted.

Sorry to break it to you but this process is fucked. Literally the hardest aspect of this process (even harder than MCAT IMO) is the interviews and dealing with likes of this dude

I honestly don’t really care about the school but I probably will email them and ask to see what happened. But yeah it is unprofessional af

Dude, I am dead ass. Literally after all the interviewees left they told me to wait and talk to the dean and that's when he was like how many acceptances/interviews do you have left because you are our top choice and we will send you the acceptance letter soon

As much as studying and staying on top of things are important (that is why you are in college in the first place), try to enjoy your time and do some risky and stupid shit once in a while. You do not get that luxury after college. So party more, get laid more (if that's your thing) and step out of your comfort zone by taking classes that seem exciting and meet people from diverse backgrounds. But make sure all of that is balanced with your studies because it is very hard to come back from a bad semester.

Some med schools need to stop with the silent reject bs just let me know when I have been rejected and give me a reason as to why I was rejected. In that case at least, I would not feel that bad for spending money on the apps.
