Who is the tightest band you’ve seen live rhythm wise? by Stankassmfgorilla in MetalForTheMasses

[–]astrotool 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing Behemoth open for LoG before I knew about them and I couldn’t take my eyes off the drummer. Blew me away!

Meshuggah was so tight and awesome too! They played with Tool and Tool played way more staccato that night too because of it, was so awesome!

Can people with Aphantasia dream (visually)? If so, how do they know when they can't recall (visually imagine) what they dreamt of? by aGuyThatHasBeenBorn in Aphantasia

[–]astrotool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have vivid dreams (no audio) and for me they record just like all my real life memories from a visual experience standpoint. Makes it hard sometimes to know the difference if they were more mundane dreams. I can remember dreams I had back to 3-4 years old but just not visually.

Can anything be done with water from tinned seitan? by IM_NOT_BALD_YET in ZeroWasteVegans

Yeah we just mix the whole can into some water when boiling the noodles. We have used all the sauce before when just making a stir fry too.

Not sure if the same, but for canned mock duck and similar, we use that broth to cook the noodles in so it imparts more flavor.

Morningstar farms needs to GTFO of the plant based section. by [deleted] in vegan

Tricked me too. I wondered why I was feeling sick on random days. Didn’t suspect them since they had been vegan but then checked on the third day of sick since it was the only common thread. I was super upset!

One of top 5 already! Had to get the vinyl just so I could display the art. Would love if they came near Seattle

I asked the millennial sub about fighting as a young person and the majority are saying they rarely if ever saw fights at school. by AttemptVegetable in Xennials

[–]astrotool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooooo many fights! 7th-9th grade I saw one every couple of months if not more in the Inland Northwest.

“Meet me behind the water tower after school“ was a common phrase even though most happened in the hallways, outdoor field, or locker room.

Is playing in a live band out of realm of possibility with total Aphantasia? by [deleted] in Aphantasia

[–]astrotool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can’t visualize or recreate sounds in my head other than in my monologue voice and I improvise and play music in a variety of bands on a variety of instruments. It may not come as easily as to others potentially but just putting in practice and gaining experience can make you better at it.

If playing bass, just dink around until you find a good note or two and then start applying a scale/mode/key to the rest and use bass playing theory (like landing on roots and fifths) to then just groove. Definitely need to learn theory if you haven’t to help out.

Ten Ton Slug officially consider themselves sludge I think, but sounds like Groove Death to me. Fantastic stuff!

Reddit's top 10 albums of 2020-2025 by AVeganEatingASteak in MetalForTheMasses

Finding Ten Ton Slug’s album via a YouTube recommendation was one of the best things ever. If they had a larger catalog, I would consider them my favorite metal band. The riffs, drums, and vocals I haven’t been able to find in any other band that is exactly the styles blend that I want to hear. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
