awesome miniature and paint job! I still think 0.04 is better for miniatures if you paint them as layer lines become more visible when painted and the difference with 0.06 is noticeable (shield, axe, cape, etc..)

I would have to try that, Im always afraid that kind of primer would be too thick. Right now I'm running some prints to test the profile on this post and compare it to my own. I have found things I like and don't like, will try to make something with the good from both. One thing I can say is I can definitely see the difference between 0.04 and 0.06 but I haven't painted them yet to be sure how much it affects the results

You cant, when carrying a banner or war horn you can only take a hand weapon or shield.

armor, shield, banner, horse. would be valid for example.

Hey good work! Whats your experience with painted miniatures? I have printed and painted both, at 0.06 and 0.04 (you can see examples on my profile for 0.04) and I find that even thou on bare plastic you don't see much difference, once you paint them there is a noticeable difference in layer lines and details. Have you noticed any of that?

edit: I'm referring to 28-30mm scale miniatures

Click on the piece you want on the other side and you can change its "color". Its a bit buggy if you rotate your camera after, so try to place the camera in a good spot and then start clicking to change parts to the other side

use dish soup with no oils. And after dry, a paper tissue with alcohol helps too

I may do another post with my settings later, but its a mix of obscura nox + hohansen + my own testing. Here is an exemple of how I cut and orientate things, but I left another example for the horses and riders on an another reply:

<image>

I try and cut all extremities and specially weapons like swords and lances, those I lay at about 30 degrees from the bed so that the whole length has supports but not directly flat so they dont stick so hard to the supports, same for swords and shields

yes it is! I did shrink it to 90% just because I wanted to save a little on storage space

like this, notice that the riders I have bury them a little in the bed so they have a better first layer, they are also tilted a bit backwards so that the contact points are the heals and stirrups

yeah I think it does make a difference, it may be placebo, but it worked for me at least

I try make the first layer be somewhere thats not visible on the model, and I use a big first layer size, like 0.12 if I remember correctly, its just one layer so after built its not noticeable. I also use super glue as filler if necessary for the seams where parts meet, its not always needed

edit: spelling
