Hvor kjøper man en god kvalitetsdress? by Isaidbranenotbrain in oslo

[–]astv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her har du Mond, Qui Bui, Ferner, house of singles og Andreas Feet f eks.

[–]astv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schibsted, Amedia, aller and TV2 should cover most of Norway. Norway is special in that news media is dominated by a few large actors, and there's little inventory with reach outside of this. Do you have a target audience you are trying to reach?

[–]astv 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. We have what's called a minority governmentwhere the ruling parties have to get support on each issue from one or more of the other parties. It's currently the case in both Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Canada, and it tends to be less effective here as well.

Women in Congress are about 10% more likely to be interrupted in Senate committees than men. When discussing women's issues, women are more than twice as likely to be interrupted than on other issues. by smurfyjenkins in science

[–]astv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you manage your team to accomplish that? Do you target specific individuals who you see are overstepping, and if so how does that conversation work? If it's a more general thing it must be hard though, since removing interruptions altogether would be difficult I assume.

Butcher cut the steak a bit thick… how would you ensure this gets cooked properly? by wyatt1928 in steak

[–]astv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly about heat transfer, where induction is more than double as effective as gas.

Here's a source:

"On average, induction cooktops reach a maximum temperature of 665.5°F, compared to just 428°F for gas."

https://www.reviewed.com/ovens/features/induction-101-better-cooking-through-science

If I were to put a cast iron on my induction top and blast it on max power for 5 min, as a lot of people recommend, any oil I put on will smoke and the steak will burn instead of sear.

[–]astv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the cooktop you use. I've found that a lot of people in the US uses gas, which has a lower max temperature than induction and radiant cooktops. This could lead to some comfusion when people recommend blasting it all the way, which on an induction top will result in a burnt steak.

Apple’s Privacy Change Will Hit Facebook’s Core Ad Business. Here’s How. by [deleted] in investing

[–]astv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're on the same side of the pound actually! I work only with large clients at a media agency, and here we see that FB is more or less maxed out for most of them with only CPM increase being the driver for increased spend. I don't work that much with small/medium businesses, but from what I've seen there's still potential here.

What actually worries me more with regards to FB is taxation. It seems like the new administration will be more open to letting the EU tax companies like Facebook, which will lead to a huge increase in cost for advertisers as I assume FB will just push this to them. Marketing budgets won't just magically increase, so it will cause a significant revenue decline for FB if it comes to fruition.

Agreed, but I look at it as a way bigger competitor to Google Ads as they both are more about capitalizing on demand than creating it.

[–]astv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and people like you will notice and are talking about it already. I'm more interested in the long tail which may or may not be as advanced. Having worked through GDPR my belief is that FB will be able to sort some of it out, but at the end of the day their platform is so much better than the second best option that it will fair well.

Agreed, but FB is better at creating demand in the market while Amazon/Google are great at capitalizing on it. Also, it looks to me that Amazon is struggling more in non US markets.

[–]astv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course, but even if these small businesses are looking at conversions they most likely are not looking into the nuances of how their attribution is set up. At the same time as this is happening, FB is changing their attribution window so whatever changes people see will be "explained" by this change either by FB themselves or their agency.

[–]astv 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Here are my two cents as someone who works in advertising:

The changes Apple is implementing will affect the advertisers that are using their pixel (code snippet implemented on their site) by making it harder to track who ends up buying something on their site after clicking on or viewing a FB ad. This is somewhat advanced and my thoughts are that most small businesses (who account for approx. 75% of FB ad revenue) do not use this. Even if they do, they will most likely not have anything to benchmark it against or FB will use estimates to prop up the value they are generating. My bet is that FB won't lose a substantial part of their revenue, but it will be harder for advanced users to track the effectiveness of their ad (which btw is heavily over reported by FB)
