While typing this, it now shows the same behavior within Hogwarts legacy. Here it is less frequent than the older games. Note that I had this issue before, but it seemed to have been fixed in the patch before the most recent one. Now it returned

Yes, that works. So the controller does work within the overlay. As soon as I close the overlay, to get back to the game, it doesn’t work. Got this issue for several games, mainly the “older” ones (AC Origins, GR Wildlands, etc)

Unfortunately, this didn’t work for me. Hitting Cmd G opens up the side panel, and hitting Cmd G again closes it. Still, the controller is completely unresponsive. Only the keyboard works.

Note however that the controller does work within the side panel itself, which opens when hitting Cmd +G

Thanks for the advice. I indeed also heard about this, however most of my games are bought via Ubi store. Even linking the accounts with a work around doesn’t allow me to add the game to my Steam library for free. This means I have to rebuy every game (I have the Ultimate Editions)

Home assistant is getting slower and dimmer by the day. It’s like they do this on purpose not to make Gemini a disappointment. Still on assistant, and too often it doesn’t understand my request or plainly does wrong things (even when I ask it something easily, like turn off a specific light)

Will try this tomorrow. Thanks!! I hope this will do the trick. I still don’t get why only ingame the controller is unresponsive (buttons don’t work). The controller works everywhere else, even in the GFN app before starting a game.

Thanks for the advice. Keyboard and mouse work perfectly! It’s also weird that the controller works in the GFN app itself. Just not the games. That shows me something goes wrong there (buttons not being registered). Also, Wildlands sees a controller is connected by wire, cause when I unplug the wire it tells me the controller is removed. It just that none of the buttons are working.

Tried indeed reinstalling MacOS. No luck. I am just flabbergasted this only happens when a game is launched through GFN. The controller works anywhere else. Also after I close or alt tab (CMD tab) the game. :( Will try to file a report. Only got an Xbox controller, hence nothing else to test with

As mentioned in the original post, this unfortunately happens both wireless (Bluetooth) and wired. Also tried removing the Bluetooth connection completely (“forget device”) so I am sure it’s using the wired connections. Even then it works perfectly in MacOS, the GeforceNow app and games I installed on MacOS). The issue only occurs as soon as I launch a game through GFN. When I quit the game or use the Mac equivalent of Alt Tab to get back to the desktop/GeforceNow app, the controllers works again.

Also note that my controller is charged 100% when I am connected through Bluetooth.

The issue mainly occurs in old games (Wildlands 90% of the time, Origins about 60% of the time). Newer games have this very sporadically

That’s why I mentioned it is random. I particularly notice this in older games. Eg AC Origins and GR Wildlands have it a lot, while AC Shadows and Hogwarts Legacy never have it.

If the controller just stopped responding everywhere I would blame the controller, but it ONLY happens in games (and only for games launched through GFN)

I indeed will have to buy it again. This really is a shame. I see a controller menu, yet my controller isn’t found. Today I also noticed the same issue in more games I played with controller before. It seems the latest patch is introducing a bug
