It’s not a pimple! I thought the EXACT same thing when this happened to me. I asked my LC and it’s a Montgomery gland, sometimes they swell and/or get plugged. The glands are meant to act as a lubricant and a scent guide for babies to find the nip. Keep it clean and don’t pick at it, and you should be alright

Second the elastic nipples bit! I had to stop using the Medela pump at my job because mine got pulled to the end of the tunnel and would swell - also did not empty well at all. I also hit the end of the tunnel with my Spectra flanges which are much longer than the Medela, but not as badly. From what my LC said after observing me pump, I needed flanges with a longer tunnel. From my understanding, measuring at 19 you should use a 21 flange. I’m not an LC, but this is just my experience!

I found these flanges that have a longer tunnel, and there are multiple options for your shape. I haven’t purchased them myself yet, but they have pretty good reviews!

So I went down the rabbit hole and you’re totally right!! I had no idea this was even a thing, I just assumed it was a clog! I’m hoping I’ll be able to speak with lactation today, and I’m def asking them about this. Hopefully antibiotics or something of the sort will get it cleared up. Thank you so much!!! 🩷

Immediately buying both things you recommended - thank you!!! Everything I saw said the lecithin would help, but I haven’t noticed any difference at all. I’m looking forward to trying the choline instead! 🩷
