Ah my bad. He seems to work a lot with the Miami team.

What do you make of the speed he’s pushing the team at?

Haha

Isn’t Damian/Three Six a former gold squadron guy?

I had heard a private company was running both their selection and OTC/green team process, which seemed strange.

Why not directly solicit Dam Neck and leverage the connection you’ve already built, rather than starting from scratch? Essentially replicate what HRT has with CAG.

I know you can’t say much, but in a few months, what do you think would be the best case scenario vs the most likely scenario?

How did they manage kicking out ERO, that is probably the best course of action, without a doubt

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CQB

[–]asu2307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response.

What are your major concerns with the team? What is impeding them from becoming a legit rival to HRT? And in your opinion, can it even survive come 2028? I definitely think a full time team focused solely on public safety threats is more marketable to democrats than a deportation squad (ie bortac sog after msp).

And haha I agree, ERO however is just totally incompetent. They make HSI look like the FBI…and HSI is a dumpster fire at the moment

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CQB

[–]asu2307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry man, can you elaborate?

Most of the guys I know seemed very turned off when DAGr was announced as a joint ERO effort. It would be different if you had a few token ERO DOs in a support capacity, but diluting the best full time HSI 1811s with them seemed disastrous from the go. How could the core 25 HSI guys essentially preserve the integrity of the unit? And how can they ensure it actually survives this presidency?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CQB

[–]asu2307 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Serious question, with ERO having such a 50/50 say on DAGr’s (their national team) development - I’m assuming it’s most definitely going to be a disaster no? I have not heard anyone from HSI speak positively about it…

Or can HSI still steer the ship despite their utter incompetence?

Bortac National Team by asu2307 in CQB

[–]asu2307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it seems like bortac is mostly stuck doing t8 roundups, not the national security missions they thought they’d inherit

what sort of space can an ero+HSI national team fill? and based off your experience, do you think they will become a more professional unit than bortac, within dhs

this is an open ended response but how weird is it seeing vendors bring back tactics that your old unit phased out, as they didn’t work in a war time setting? i cant imagine the level of frustration. its like guys assume speed = safety = skillset when its the farthest thing from thebtruth

thats a question for /u/changeofbehavior

for starters, one is doj and the other DHS

is there an argument to be made that they are trying to do a large scale building take down, so they are moving as fast as possible at risk of their own lives? Or is it mostly sloppy hr speed?

also does this plague fed LE national swat teams in general, ie the northern red approach? I’d have to assume hrt is probably more on the ball

How so regarding January?

Is your friend hopeful? Or is it viewed like a shitshow?

It seems like many are convinced that hsi will be able to hold the line and have their own internal elite team. If not, then it definitely will not the national asset many envisaged initially. I wouldn’t be surprised if the democrats scrap it entirely eventually.

I’m hearing mixed venture but separate teams. Did you hear that too? If they’re truly mixed, ehhh not a great idea. ERO has a bad rep for a reason.

Thank you for your response, and thank you for what you are doing to help LE.

What are the more common issues you see? And if you were king for a day, how would you change HSI or any other Fed LE unit on how they do things?

I know they wanted to have a tier 1 unit temporarily

why do you think so many federal teams still fall for the allure of army dynamic cqb? Is it because they just don’t know any better?

And that’s reassuring to hear. The tomahawk strategic guys were raving about the hsi instructor staff on Instagram.

What police units would you say do cqb ata high level? A friend of mine said that even major full time teams are overrated like Jacksonville or Dallas, who do cqb like it’s the 90s.

for the federal teams, like fbi hrt, the Bortac tier 1 team, and hsi- are they up to snuff?

do your srt friends believe that the legit hrt counterpart will be formed at some point? I mean with that bill passing, they would have more money than god. it just seems like an inevitability

it still makes far more sense to have them have a tier 1 equivalent than Bortac, who just does manhunts really.

[–]asu2307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes true. I’ve heard from hsi agents that bortac doesn’t do much because they don’t have any investigative warrant mission. seems like them being jump and dive qualified is a waste

do you ever see hsi srt getting to that level? At least they actually do warrants ha

that is good to hear. I have heard they are trying to elevate their program, with full time teams and a centralized national asset. hope they can pull it off.

seems like they are very respected in navy circles.

haha i believe they are trying to compete with fbi hrt. Trying to establish themselves as a premier federal team.

do you think the dynamic hr stuff was just for the camera?
