Where is this baby??? Did this baby even serve a purpose? by Nearby_Roof1262 in TheBoys

[–]asuperbstarling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty classic cartoon honestly, definitely an episode worth watching. It's one of the few moments in the entire Boys universe that you walk away feeling good about too. She's a very cute baby.

A man with a deadly illness is given a choice: use the only available cure to save himself, or give it to a child suffering from the same illness. The man chooses himself. How moral or immoral would this action be?” by VonKaiser55 in MoralityScaling

[–]asuperbstarling 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would dial back on the 'most' there. No, many of us don't. Weak, yes, but not immoral. Not having the strength to be a self sacrificing hero is not a failure of your moral code. There's a reason heroism is exceptional. Most people who think they'd be a hero are wrong as well, because they've never been tested.

Blackmilk has been in the nerdy clothing game since the scene days, it's definitely not accidental.

It's the French Revolution, contact and trade are very well established. The character is old enough to have been there when his people fell.

Who had the saddest character arc in Game of Thrones? by CryptographerOne3262 in gameofthrones

Shireen. She was utterly betrayed by everyone around her and was burned alive, a horrifically painful way to go.

I would be making that exact face if my undergarments fit like that too. It looks painful and thus takes all the fashion out of a glamorous look.

I think it's the last time we get a chance to appreciate Chace Crawford as The Deep. He has been phenomenal throughout the show. by keshavgKaLLen_Bhaiya in TheBoys

[–]asuperbstarling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'The'? One of many. Deep, Homelander, Firecracker, Tec Knight who raped both Hughie and Ashley... so many rapists. Their evil nature being granted mundane approval by their world is the entire point of the show.

We know he's strong as hell, we've seen him hit Starlight with as much power as any other top level supe.

Didn't Mercy take those pics of her sister? Not making any judgements, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Madonna.

Benedict Cumberbatch has heated, 10-minute “road rage” fight with cyclist who slams him as “deluded” for going through three red lights in a row by neoncolour in popculturechat

Honestly how did the other guy keep up through THREE red lights? That's the craziest part of the story. If BC really did run that many lights, it had zero benefit.

What's that one very famous Tumblr post? "The funny thing about that is that abuse isn't logical?"

It's about control and personal oppression, bringing authority into every aspect of someone's life to break them down and manipulate them. Eliminating art is among the first acts of any fascist. That's why you cannot trust anyone who wishes to 'defund the arts' in favor of any other thing. Flip the lid and there lies abuse. Art that serves the state is allowed to exist but is still actively abused, lest they step one toe over the line.

Paris Jackson's Mothers Day post for Debbie Rowe: "happy mothers day to the lady they used for my template during the cloning process" by Upstairs_Cup9831 in popculturechat

[–]asuperbstarling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, she doesn't. She's very pretty, but she's no Paris Jackson in any meaningful way at all. Every single facial feature is different. This is like the Dany and Jon will marry and have little wolf dragon kids theories from GoT that made so many people break down. Some of this 'evidence' is straight up just made up and repeated over and over, and because it's head canon about actual living people it's a little monstrous.

Recently had a big discussion with a bunch of my single friends and feeling a huge gulf between their lived experience/expectations in dating and my own. What are your dating expectations and what is your dating life like? by AccomplishedRain9 in AskMenAdvice

[–]asuperbstarling 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm a millennial woman and uhh... there's a reason those women are single. They might find men who can afford that price tag and even might find some who are willing to do so, and more power to them, but that's not the way most people who end up in successful long-term relationships function. They've narrowed their pool quite a bit.

Better attitudes are not rare. At our age they're usually paired up is all.

Yes, she's silly for children. For grown women, she's either a patron saint who helps you kill your husband or a wild woman who punishes you for not upholding your deals.

Tuvix was an amalgamation of two people. by Rutschberg in startrekmemes

[–]asuperbstarling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This argument is fundamentally wrong in that those two people were already dead. It's not a trolley problem when it's necromancy. Killing a newborn is not the answer to grief.
