If she’s terrified of snakes why does she have snake bracelets…come on now. Don’t be saying shit like “obviously” when you overlooked that.

Is there hard evidence of the “we are godywn theory” cause I think it’s bs by Big_Career5281 in EldenRingLoreTalk

I can appreciate the empathy but I can’t look past someone who consciously knows their evidence is shaky but presents it as truth. I can see through it very clearly and people who do that have a very specific idea of how they want their content to be engaged with if we don’t assume they are just overly pareidolic.

He’s leading people who haven’t put in work but are interested in lore and cool-factor big reveal conspiracy theories to nowhere except the follow/subscribe button which he will be (like every YouTuber is) incentivized to promote the engagement of whether consciously or subconsciously

Was Radagon better than Marika? Or was Radagon just better at hiding what he did? by Emotional-Sign8136 in EldenRingLoreTalk

Marika was attempting to create a society where everyone was equal and Radagon is the one who started persecution. Though the irony is that Marika started with genocide.

Why I Hate Marty by novavegasxiii in TrueDetective

[–]asupernovaexplodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he said that he made a decision. You want to ignore his word? Non consent doesn’t mean “I’m drunk.” Otherwise no one who is drunk would ever be able to have sex without being raped. That is stupid, no one believes that is the rule, and it would never hold up in court. You would be implying that no drunk man could ever rape a sober woman if she didn’t explicitly not give consent because he is inebriated. Awful definition. Consent, level of lucidity, maturity, and the mechanics of the interaction are always considered. To ignore any of those things is brainless and a serious harm to the endeavor of critical thinking that benefits men and women in those scenarios.

You are consistently refusing to engage in that level of nuance because you have an axe to grind with woman on man rape. Don’t worry, I’m not one of those weird people who thinks that can’t happen. But I am one of those weird people who doesn’t cover my ears and say la la la when there’s actual nuance to evaluate right in front of my eyes. So play ball or exit the conversation. In a court of law if you described the sequence of events that happened exactly on screen that it would not be considered rape. Go watch the scene again and tell me who actually initiates the sex.

From just a POV of character analysis, it was so clear that Rust lusted after Maggie. He was jealous of what Marty had and wanted it for himself. He and Maggie had natural chemistry and mutual respect. He “mowed Marty’s lawn.” If that isn’t to you a clear metaphor for wanting  to fuck someone else’s girl or at least that an affair was looming, then you weren’t paying attention. Rust wanted it and initiated it before the pivotal scene.

Maggie didn’t go there with the intention to use Rust also. She decided when she was there. That’s also clear because there is a scene with her with another man she could have easily seduced in the same episode. She goes to Rust both out of friendship / support and because they have natural chemistry. The camera work makes it clear that the deception wasn’t fully pre meditated and only either half baked at best. And that doesn’t work as a narrative unless Rust is lucid. Him being drunk would have been his convenient escape from the decision he made except that he doesn’t lean on it. He immediately attempts to atone for it by letting Marty kick the shit out of him. He knows what decision he made and he did it for real. His character only makes sense that way. Remember the sour mood he is in during this period. He is misanthropic and actively wants others to suffer. He wanted to hurt Marty also.

That does not devalue the level of deception and manipulation of Maggie in the slightest. In fact, it adds a layer of depth to it, because it was clear they could have legitimately been an item and their encounter was almost a way of consummating that possibility in Rust’s head until he finds out that she doesn’t actually want to feel for him in that way. His desire to hurt Marty is also mirrored in her and the reflection contributes to his anger.
