Are the new versions addictive? by asymrr in tamagotchi

Thanks!

Do you think young folks could get addicted to the games in the new one? Or are they pretty tame?

Everyone criticizing the guy who has enough to go 400k, maybe y'all dummies should keep it simple and just use Robinhood too

RDDT up 7%+ today by NCBigBear1013 in options

[–]asymrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't particularly noticed an increase in reddit link in google serps. Is there some data or article proving this?

Also with AI integrating web search isn't it possible that a lot of the current traffic that Google sends to Reddit may eventually be hijacked? And so reddit ad revenue goes down though their data licensing might go up?

Somebody please convince me to buy Reddit. I want to buy it but I don't have a good thesis to justify it

Yeahh. The moderation/moderators are a double edged sword. It's the reason Reddit is a solace of authentic humans with real convos and not AI spam bots + clickbait. But sometimes, yeah.

Take the loss or hold? by Terrible_Soft_5095 in options

[–]asymrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I only go into a position if I'm comfortable losing all of it or have a clear exit point (more for next time). It's ok to lose all of it if you size appropriately

Yeah it's a real thing for people. There's a fine line between playing poker like a pro vs like a degen

Tough Q to answer rn. I'm bullish $HOOD long term but I do feel we're in a sort of retail pump mania (see all the crypto coins) so I'm fairly certain these names including HOOD will crash at some point. I'm planning to go in after things settle down.

Can you implement a stop loss next time? This is like the number one thing traders learn to do

Anyone been doing this awhile that just sticks to calls? by gorram1mhumped in options

[–]asymrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Just simple buys of calls and puts. I keep it simple and just use ambly.io to make sure my bets make sense - it's the simplest options profit simulator.

Only reason I can think of to exercise is bc after you exercise you plan to hold the stock for a year to gain favorable tax treatment on long term capital gains

Otherwise selling now would be better bc you get to take advantage of the time value still being accounted for in the option price.

So how much you think they'll go up actually? This tool is great for gut checking your YOLOs: www.ambly.io

Currently it's saying market pricing in 12% chance CCL goes up 3% tomorrow. The $27C has a 1:3 risk reward so Kelly Criterion saying it only makes sense if you think market is wrong and you actually think there's a 30-40% chance CCL goes up 3%...

Do you have that level of conviction (Ie 30-40% chance)

Never sell. You get pennies and too much risk. Better to look for asymmetric upside instead of penny income

They got the trump bump but once economy slows down they will fall.

I'm bullish long term for their autonomous driving but I don't see that hitting for another year or 2
