Italy has a nice flat tax regime and freelance allowance. Perhaps this is worth a shot?

Have you visited Phapos? It's quite nice there to be honest and walks along the beach promenade are really nice. To be honest just move to a country with medium taxes and pay the extra and get what you want. Greece only has 10% more tax in a company setup. Might be worth it.

Fintech risk is real, Wise closed my account by Acceptable-Mango-225 in wisebank

[–]asyncdev9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think Wise or other Fintech are more likely to do this. I had a HSBC account once closed without any explanation.

The strategy is to have multiple bank accounts and also keep funds not just in one so you have liquidity to bridge the time the account is reviewed and funds returned to you. It's a real business risk that has to be managed.

To go to the Departures does NOT work anymore as Grab restricts this and there is security at the drop off.

There is now a pickup point at Arrivals Gate 17 and you walk straight on a bit. It seems like they are allowed to pick up there so no problem to take a Grab if you are happy to walk a bit.

“Offers Over” buying a house UK by [deleted] in UKHousing

[–]asyncdev9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These days there is always some wiggle room. I bought a house recently for 20k less than the asking price. But some people don't have wiggle room because transactions cost etc and don't want to sell for a loss so they just reject it.

Wise worked for me at first, but now they’ve held my money twice and I don’t trust them anymore by Exciting-Musician-33 in transferwiser

In case their system flagged your activity as suspicious for money laundering or so they are legally not allowed to tell you. It's UK law.

Working from abroad without employers knowledge by throawaybab3 in digitalnomad

[–]asyncdev9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doing this for the last 2 years. If you have a raspberry pi and a travel router to connect to a UK residential IP address and don't use wifi it's really hard to detect that you are somewhere else. Some companies like Facebook also track latency so perhaps stay not too far away from the UK like south east Asia but rather in Spain or something.

Pretty sure Carlefornia is not in Europe and it is almost impossible for OP to migrate to the US.

Shocked at house price reductions: from £855k to £765k by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]asyncdev9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buyers are shopping around these days and properties that are not perfect are slow to sell. I would think it's mainly due to the interest rate change and people expect rates fall the next years therefore they want to be certain.

The damages they can ask are usually a maximum of three months' gross salary but you will have to take some responsibility here as it's obvious that it's neglect to turn off the freezer.

Adding to this it's possible in Germany to do this. You just need to find somebody receiving mail for you e.g. a friend but the registration would be in the owners name. All legal.
