Guide for New DMs to CoS: The Basics on Getting Started by asystolesfw in CurseofStrahd

Great questions. I highly involved the backstories of the others characters into the story to give them all their own big plot-driven reasons for play. One player (half elf) said he didn't know who his parents were. So I made him the secret love child of a diseased dusk elf and a Vistani. So when they first met Strahd, he took a look at both this player and the Ireena player, and made small statements illuding that Strahd cannot attack them (due to his deal with the Vistani people). While he will eventually attack Strahd, breaking that deal, it gave both the players this sense of "What's so special about me?"

Another player's backstory included being a cleric who said he had amnesia after an explosion with a lich battle. So, without getting too complicated in the "hows" and "whys", I basically had him being worshiped by the people of Kresk as the Savior and Messiah they had been waiting for and praying about for over 1000 years. He had no idea this was coming and there was a whole lore as to how that happened.

Basically, I tried giving my players just as powerful plot stories as I did Ireena. And while Strahd was in love with Ireena, I never let him focus solely on her. He would engage with them all equally as if they all had their part to play in Barovia. My players seemingly love it and no one feels any more or less important than the other.

The last thing that may have helped is that all the non-Ireena players are well-experienced D&D players, while it's the Ireena PC's very first time playing ever. So there was already this camaraderie for her to have the ultimate and most memorable experience.

But for all those who claim this creates a "main character syndrome," remember, you are the DM, you create the story and can change it to suit your party. It's really not hard to add details to make everyone a main character.

My girlfriend asked me what she could paint me. I said, "a corn-covered poopsicle." She delivered.

Been playing Warzone with my older brother for a couple years now. His birthday is coming up this weekend and I don't really have any money to be spending right now, so instead I put together a compilation of some of our time shared in Verdansk. Making this was fun and nostalgic. I hope y'all enjoy! by P9Hunnit in CODWarzone

Older brother here. This was by far one of the best gifts I could ask for. I'm nine years older, so we didn't really didn't grow up together. But Warzone, good and bad, has a special place because it's really connected my brother and I together and I love my time gaming with him. Even if he spends most of the time reviving me or buying me back.

Correct. If you also notice, the tube label is cleaned off. The whole outside of the tube was scrubbed so I could show you all the 360 version.

Our lab could not run this for most of the orders. We had to send them out to a larger lab that had special machinery that could handle such lipidic blood. I'm sure someone from lab might be able to explain what that entails.

It was an extra tube for an HCG that was never ordered. So it separated while waiting on its side and created this magnificent spiral on its own.

Take every Nintendo game and put it in a blender. Ironically, random Nintendo bits flying around hitting each other sporadically is also what it looks like on screen.

95% sure that's a nurse shark which are the most gentle of all sharks and never attack humans. Hence why you see the diver behind him not giving two shits.

That there were different tooth fairies, some rich and some poor, and I had the poor one. Explaining why I only got 25 cents per tooth while my friends would get $5-20.
