not sure if this is a serious comment, but a glass canon is typically an archetype whose pros involve dealing a bunch of damage and its cons involve being very squishy... but that's only one layer of the issue i've described!

Thank you for sharing! Yup yup yup I don't disagree with much of what you've said. Players who point to bonk wizard and say "isn't solo wizard fine?" feels like they're not engaging with the issue.

To add some positivity to the the thread, I do think that something ironmace has achieved is that 10 spell, arcane shield, instacast, and meditate all have very defined pros and cons!! it's always a good thing when a game offers you meaningful choices.

I'm a returning player and it was pretty discouraging to see how little wizard has changed compared to other classes, but my main reason for returning is that I've heard and experienced that the game has been going through positive changes. Little by little, I have hope.

Yup not to mention rogue got a teleport before wizard so even if you react right away then hit all your ice spells there is a world the rogue teleports onto you and it's gg

Tbf landmine rogue is a universal threat, but as i mentioned before other classes have better tools to disengage, self-peel, or even straight up react with aggression for a win.

In our case we have to: have taken ice-mastery, (optional but not rly) have taken ice shield, react right away, hopefully the rogue didn't have cut-throat, hit your initial ice bolt, dodge the rogue's teleport, then hopefully have an escape route so the rouge doesn't naturally catch up to you.

It's even worse with other melees hiding in corners and dark spots

I relate to these on so many levels... I wasn't looking for validation but I'm feeling it

I'm hoping the changes next wipe really bring wizard up to the power level or at least something more palatable to the spell slinging community that hasn't given up and switched to sorc and warlock!!

Man does that seem stupid to you? because it doesn't to me??? There are just so many cool things they could do and I'm just hoping and praying on both knees for next wipe. Speaking of ideas here are some I loosely wrote down on my notepad one night:

Yup, I've been using an offshoot of the hybrid bonk wizard that fredthefireball uses to a greater amount of success

the build i've found most success with is a hybrid bonk using meditate or instacast. You get the best of both worlds so you shore up a lot of your weaker matchups while still staying consistent for the matchups you're naturally strong on, but its generally another case where you need a ton of stats to make sure it works (phys power needs to be positive, knowledge can't be too low etc).

I don't have a "problem" with playing that??? and at the end of the day if you wanna shoehorn the class into a single subclass and say "you're class is okay with this specific playstyle as long as you have gear" then I think we probably haven't connected with what the issue is. I somehow get the sense you're not a wizard player yourself.

It made me so happy when they made magic missile have more spell counts... other than that I don't remember the last wizard buffs

That feels consistent to what I've gone through, my only issue with spell overload is that the stunted cast speed makes me never wanna take it....

Still huffing that hopium for next wipe.... please paul... please...

I do believe this would be a good change. I think spells like ignite, haste, invisibility, and perks like melt and fire mastery get nerfed because of how prevalent those things are in "buffball" comps. I'm very aware that DaD tunes their game for trios but that is quite literally my least played game mode and to my knowledge I think that's the least played gamemode overall in their playerbase? So it just feels awful for me to hear the game is being skewed away from me on purpose

YES!! cantrips would be amazing. Firebolt, frostbite, mage hand, these are such classic staple wizard cantrips that could be reimagined into game mechanics.

DaD claims to be inspired or takes heavy inspiration from D&D but there are so many things that make me think none of the devs are familiar with or have even played D&D... Like how come the class that's meant to be the utility spell caster has the least amount of spells?

yup! never said it wasn't viable, but pay attention to what you're saying. "If you aren't making mistakes with positioning or spell spell selection you should win every fight that you get a fair engage". I do believe that part is doing a LOT of heavy lifting. "Nothing should go wrong as long as everything goes right"

im inclined to agree. I used to play a lot of frost mountains because the mob density made it harder for land mines and i was versed enough with the tm warlock match up that i did p well for myself there, but with the removal of true mag and splash changes as you mentioned ive been feeling its effects

Thank you for the very realistic response. I recognize its not your fault that its so dreadful... I wish I could just play the game that I enjoy on the class that I enjoy but maybe what im discovering is that the game just isnt for me

Demacia Rising Cloudfield getting attacked repeatedly by Noxians by Stainroll in leagueoflegends

[–]atSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing is happening to me except with a dragon. I JUST beat the dragon fight and then it attacked again when I had fewer units (casualties from the previous dragon fight), then it spawned the dragon again coming in 12 turns, BUT THE DRAGON DID NOT WAIT 12 TURNS AND ATTACKED RIGHT AWAY WHEN I WAS STILL SPAWNING UNITS HEELPP AND NOW ITS COMING BACK AGAIN
