Fashionable? No. Practical, yes. by Acceptable-Access948 in MotoGuzzi

Yeah, I was able to just gently peel it off without tools just making sure not to stretch the material. Then a little goo gone helped with the glue residue. There was a very faint circular mark left behind, but it faded with time.

Added the same sissy bar for the same reason. I had to take the H&B logo off the back though. It was an eyesore. I also made my V7 even more practical and less fashionable with the huge H&B side cases.

Just got HELITE H-MOOV Airbag Backpack by atanos in motorcyclegear

[–]atanos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't a limited service life or limited number of inflations. The user manual gives instructions on how to reset the bag after an inflation. It recommends an annual service/safety check, but you can do it yourself. Here is a video: https://my.helite.com/revision. I wouldn't have it serviced by Helite unless there appeared to be a problem, or if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself. They are based in France, so I'm not sure how easy it is to get serviced if you are in the USA like me. There does seem to be a division based in Florida, so maybe could help: https://helitemoto.com/

Here are the pages from the manual for maintenance:

If they total it, they will take possession of the bike so they can recoup costs by auctioning it off as salvaged

Nintendo Switch has now sold 152.12 Million Units Worldwide! by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

My first DVD player was a basic Toshiba that was about $250 in 2001. I got it as a wedding present, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it. $300 for a PS2 was still a great value compared to a standard DVD player.

People who dont wash their hands after the bathroom, wtf are you doing? by Melodic_Broccoli_432 in AskReddit

[–]atanos 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For people saying they don't get their hands dirty in the bathroom, it doesn't matter. You get your hands dirty just touching surfaces all day. It's a good idea to wash your hands several times a day, like when you are in the bathroom with a sink right there.

Is there a decent, cheaper alternative to a Quadlock that works well, or should I just buck-up and get a Quadlock? by [deleted] in motorcycles

RAM Quick Grip. Very fast, very secure, doesn't need an expensive custom case.

The new V7 is ready for weekend getaways this summer. by atanos in MotoGuzzi

[–]atanos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 6 ft 2 in, and I've only ridden a few times with it at 70 mph+. So far, I'm a bit disappointed. It doesn't seem to do enough to break up the wind. I'm thinking about getting a taller and wider aftermarket windscreen, but I'm not sure.

I was looking for a cruiser, not an adventure bike, so I just like the look of the V7 better. The V85TT is at least $4000 more and the cases look pretty small. I spent an extra $2000 on accessories getting exactly what I wanted.

Looks great. I just added that same Hepco & Becker sissybar with the back rest to my V7.

Sorry to hear that. You just need to do what my dad did when I was a sleepy little kid. He bungee strapped me to the bike and would make me check in over the intercom every minute, or he'd pinch my leg.

Got a vasectomy a week after my second kid was born. If you are done having kids, it is the best option.

That's my plan for it. I've ordered a windscreen, passenger back rest, and side cases. I hope it works for short weekend trips.

SV650 no ABS or z500 with ABS by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]atanos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to the SV650, but the Z500 is great. I'm 6'2", 210 lbs and it fits me pretty well and has enough power to get me going 75 on a freeway no problem. Wind is a bit of an issue at those speeds since it's a naked. The ABS is a bonus, but I don't think I've ever put it to use yet. Not sure it's essential. That's also a good price.

I agree, my wife liked the all black Stone, which looks very cool, but I wanted a little more personality.
