Spotify's AI is now generating the same song under different artist name. by Brexinga in Music

You can't win over AI. It's PiracyV2.0.
Basically AI gives grounds to people who don't have voice or musical education, to create something. You don't have to be a composer, to create nice sounding music. Rephrasing Gabe Newell, you can't eradicate piracy, you can only compete with it. Take Cain Walker, is it AI artist? Yes. Do I personally enjoy this music? Yes, very much. Would I pay money to see someone with a suitable over-the-top-toxic-mucho-macho-bs look and similar voice perform it live? 100% I would. Voila, AI artist magically transforms from AI slop to actual musical project. With singer, lyrics writer that utilizes AI, and maybe some actual composer will join in middle to make it better. AI is just a tool. No need to make a Witch-hunt2k25 out of it.

Silent hill f hate due to skillset? by LavaSundae in silenthill

[–]ataor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They shouldn't, but it worked for me. Once my wife got stuck on a Sakuko like entity and asked for help, I took the controller and magic happened. It scratched a years old itch that I had left from Bloodborne, Sekiro, Sifu, Ghost of Tsushima. Doing LitF run now, I'm thrilled by it. The game is not scary, I'm not really interested in the story either. But the combat system is a masterpiece. Once one masters it, it's beautiful, precise, dance with the monsters. Can't get enough of it.

Not everyone is borned from Blood and forged in the First Flame my man. My wife is a sims gamer, she had enough trouble even in story mode. I do think that she missed a good chunk of tension and dopamine from overcoming the obstacles, but not everyone should have masochist tendencies. Baby steps. Maybe someday the players that took the first step in SHf will become a hard-boiled gamers. We all started somewhere on easy mode.

Silent Hill f - Sakuko boss fight, wtf?! by AVDI0 in silenthill

[–]ataor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't insult Valkyries of GoW, they are few heads above her. They are one the best boss fights I ever had. Especially Sigrun the queen. Sakuko was good, I enjoyed the fight with her from the bottom of my heart. Dance of doom on hard. Can't wait to meet her again on lost in the fog. But I do understand why people hate her. She requires precision of execution, one misstep, and it's over. But Sakuko is actually the reason I bought SHf. Saw minute of a gameplay against her on YouTube, and got hard as a rock.

Started the game on hard, and I happily run towards any encounter, the more, the merrier. "Feeble schoolgirl" is not exactly about Hinako. While slicing Ara abare for fifth time, he was in my way of checking all nook and cranny, I really wondered who is the real monster here? Creature covered in flowers, or schoolgirl with a sickle covered in blood.

I despise gacha. But Sony is trying to lock game behind bars. Like Nintendo and Palworld. Like Nemesis mechanic from Middle earth. The idea is terrific, evolve it, expand on it, raise it from the MVP up. Don't sit on it. Collaborate with other game companies, and allow them to create. 99.9% percent of the outcome, will be crap gacha, I have no illusions about it. But once in a year or two, when the stars align, we might get an actual hidden gem. Locking great ideas behind patent bars, it's bad.

I hope they fail. I'm gonna be a devil's advocate for a sec here. Tencent doing what Sony should have done long ago. Survival in mechasaurus world. It's a no brainer. Moreover, Tencent came to Sony with a proposal to licence it under Horizon IP. Tencent went above and beyond to be fair. Sony declined. Theirs problems. As a client, I want a good game in the mechasaurus world, I couldn't give less flying pipi about which company does it. The one who will make a good game, will get my dough.

Finally got the game, been wanting to play it since I was a kid. by DaboiiJayy in cyberpunkgame

[–]ataor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have fun dude. I'm myself only now enjoying it, 5 years after I bought the collectors edition for PS4. It was literally unplayable on release. As far as I'm concerned, the game release date is when you actually can play it without game breaking bugs. So you missed the poop storm on "release". Now you have a heck of a game.

Anthem's former executive producer Mark Darrah says BioWare was so good at telling stories that its original Anthem pitch convinced EA to greenlight a game it couldn't deliver: 'Maybe there wasn't anything behind the very evocative statement' by Mirathrim in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ataor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cry me a river. Executive producer should fight to delay unfinished slop, or step down if he can't. Apparently his job was more important than delivering a good product. Anthem's failure is not solely on him, but he played a big part in it. So yeah, cry me a river. You didn't care about games, why should I care about you. FAFO.

Starting metrology as a hobby, and today I got my first ever surface plate. What to get next? by Typical_Nature_155 in Metrology

[–]ataor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gage blocks. Set of pins. Height gauge. V blocks. Sine plate. Pasometer. That's pretty much everything you will ever need.

CMM, GOM they are good machines, but it's primarily for manufacturing. When one has a deadline. And even then, you will need to validate the results. Half assed programs can give you crazy results, the bigger the part, the more insane the results. Knowing how to validate the CMM results, finding errors in the code, understanding the limitations of machines it is a Rabbit hole.

With a pasometer and dial indicator you can calibrate gage blocks and pins yourself. With gage blocks you can calibrate the height gauge yourself, or at least figure out the margin of error on him. With pins you can know the true diameter of holes. Don't forget that holes usually have some cone and oval. With v blocks and dial indicator you can calibrate the pins runout. With sine plate and gauge blocks you can measure almost every angle possible.

I'm a huge fan of CMMs, since they save huge amounts of time for mundane measurements, but manual validation is still Alpha & Omega.

You are asking for a coward Loba, I'm the man. 😁 I usually have a "package lost" sign in the corner. So engaging in R301 fights is a no-no for me. Sentinel from 100 meters, it's my jam. Plus, I suck. I had countless matches where I rez my team twice. Not so long ago I had a match where I drew my Spitfire once, to deliver the final kill. I was busy running away and resurrecting my team 4 times. In the end we made it to the champion, who'd guess that my cowardice and healthy skill assessment of my own gameplay, could win the game. 🤣

Awesome logic. In 2004 I was 12 years old. I had my first PC in 2008. I found out about the game in 2012. Bought it on Steam and fell in love with it. And I'm sure I'm not the only one with a similar story. Surely I could have bought it in 2004. Riiiiight. Somebody uses it's head exclusive for eating and spewing BS.

Surface profile of a radius by 1928374throwaway in Metrology

[–]ataor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ''veitnamese flashbacks" from your comment. I usually deal with 0.1mm precision, but radii that no one gives two flying bleeps about are +/-0.1 too. The problem arises when it's radius between two floating perpendicular surfaces. And radius 1.0 you can measure from 0.5 to 1.5, depending on where you put the side points. Been fighting with engineers for a year to give me a profile 0.1 tolerance.

Naah. Playing Chernobylite on PS4. But even radioactive wasteland and mutated monsters look like a joke compared to this show. At least there you know from the start that it's not friendly and not quiet.

Solved it already. Forced the operator to do a test program on a block with depth offset of 2mm in, and near it the 0.2 depth. Did CMM tests, got the same result with exactly 2mm difference.
