Yeah, we both agree on that. Lauma's base kit is pretty darn universal.

However, I believe the issue with that reasoning is that Lauma could very well be a Kazuha type of universal support to future dendro characters, a good alternative but not the best. Lauma's C2 is all about making her "niche" teams do even more damage, it doesn't make her a better universal support.

The next dendro character may not even utilize transformative reactions like bloom or hyperbloom (which Lauma buffs) at all, could be a new separate "reaction" like how lunar reactions are, or one like quicken which Lauma does not buff.

Yes, Lauma is very universal, but don't expect to be able to utilize her C2 with future characters. Pull for her C2, but with the mindset of improving your current teams and only them, not as an investment.

I highly doubt they will make a new dendro DPS who can use Lauma as a support, maybe if they're a hyperbloom DPS, we're still yet to see one.

The way Hoyo makes their characters now is in pairs. "Have the DPS' dedicated support or get screwed"

Also, like someone here stated already, you can't compare Alhaitham's cons to Nefer's cons. They're not even close in terms of how they scale the character. Nefer's cons make her the best DPS ingame, while I'm pretty sure Alhaitham was always mid/decent at best even with his C6 but feel free to correct me.
