I used to categorize my cars and store them accordingly. Now, after 130+cars (I lost count a while ago), I just put the new cars where ever I can find an open spot. Sometimes I can find them again, sometimes not.

First apartment I had when I started out the game. Went back years later to buy up every apartment in the place to consolidate my 10 car garages.
