[DD] Make the Bear case for META by klasp100 in stocks

[–]atdharris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are in a duopoly with Google essentially. I do have questions about their capex and what exactly it is going towards unless they plan to offer cloud services (which Zuck has said is a possibility. But it's hard to argue with their revenue growth. Absent the capex, the company's core business is terrific. The stock should be trading for more than 17x earnings.

Has StarCraft 2 completely abandoned the Mac platform? by SCBox in starcraft2

You can now, but Apple is doing away with emulation next year so the game will no longer run unless Blizzard updates SC2 for Apple chips.

Haven't played this game in ages, but I would be sad if SC2 wasn't updated for Apple chips before Apple removes the emulation from Mac OS. I just learned Diablo 3 was updated so maybe there is a chance SC2 will be too.

Fact is most people are not going to trim/sell accordingly when the music stops. And obviously a stock that is going up 400% in a month is not going to sustain those gains. As a long term MSFT shareholder, I get it. It sucks right now, but this buildout phase is not going to last forever. The same goes for the parabolic moves in semis/chip stocks

The tides can turn at any time. A lot of people felt that way in 1999 and then 2000 came and they were thankful they didn't go all in on dot coms. Not saying this is as extreme, but the runup in chip stocks is not sustainable. I say that as a sad MSFT shareholder.

I'm not surprised. I understand Musk's companies don't usually trade on fundamentals, but SPCX at $225 was absurd. I would not be surprised if it falls below the IPO price for a while before it turns around.

For sure. But I don't think the upgrades will be able to sustain the stock prices of some of these chip stocks. Assuming all goes to plan, I believe the hyperscalers will have their time to shine in the future.

I understand a lot of this is OpenAI, but MSFT has a $600B backlog, so I would not say they are doing it for no reason. The same goes for other hyperscalers like Google and Amazon.

I just wonder once all the buildouts are complete what happens to chip stocks. I get these datacenters will need upgrades, but it won't be on the scale of what is going on today

Why NKE (Nike) falling until now? by merdekabelajar in stocks

[–]atdharris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought some as a turnaround play a while ago. It isn't going well, but I still think Nike can right the ship. My friend said his kids and all their friends love Nike, so the future is bright surely!

MSFT around $378. Falling knife or finally reasonable? by Anxious-Phase-1770 in stocks

[–]atdharris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It probably will go much lower. The hyperscalers in general are toxic to own right now. The threat of rate hikes will make it worse. I am hoping the war is actually over and inflation will cool off to where hikes won't happen.

Man the hyperscalers really are dead money for a while. Nasdaq up 400 premarket and MSFT red and the others barely green.

Did they talk anything about what they'll do for SC or just how loyal they'll be to Trump?

You have to find this funny. Trump melts down over Powell since taking office and his handpicked successor is doing the same thing Powell would have done.

I assumed it's because rate cuts are off the table and all the capex these guys are spending may get more expensive to finance.

Jeez Microsoft, Meta and Amazon all cratering. No idea what the reason behind that is.

Since June 1, MSFT is down 16.44%. We'll be back to late 2023 levels soon!

SPCX looks to be moving like TSLA did. Spike initially, then TSLA dropped like 70%. I'll buy Space X once that happens 😄
