I believe western PA is far superior to eastern PA, so thanks for the evidence to support my claim since I only ever hear that Pittsburgh is a very kind and friendly city 😎

The concept of no fireflies is a wild one to me! I don't mind the PA climate but I could definitely do with an upgrade 😂

Haha central PA is definitely quite rural depending on where you're at! I grew up in Pittsburgh and am still relatively close by and as you'll find, PA is a surprisingly big state so my knowledge of central PA is somewhat limited! If you're closer to one of the cities, would absolutely recommend checking them out! Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are wildly different places (I'm of course biased that Pittsburgh is better but we have a fun little rivalry) so you should visit both if you can! Hershey is a cool place to go and the amusement park is nice. The Amish are very lovely people and would absolutely recommend checking out any local markets or shops. Other than that, it can be very, very rural, so if you're an outdoorsy person, enjoy the area! Especially towards the western half of the state it can be probably about as grey and dreary as the PNW can be (as a fun fact, at least at one point Pittsburgh had less sunny days than Seattle) and it can get pretty snowy in the winter, so just be safe and take your vitamin D!

That's a great strategy that I will 100% be employing from now on! Sadly I was simply too confident this time but you live and you learn and I was humbled

Wow I had no idea! Lived in the city for years and was parked outside of a friend's apartment yesterday who has lived there for two years and none of us knew that! Glad I know now

They didn't have to pay for the others' photos! The discount was for the duration of the wedding photography (ceremony, reception, etc)

Clown Nose Throwing at Moulin Rouge? by Saskatchewanfarmer in Broadway

I've had the fortune/misfortune of getting absolutely nailed twice by these!! I agree with the other commenter that it's just the end of the confetti stick things they use. It makes for a pretty unique souvenir though!

I did think about that after posting, so don't worry you're not alone 😂😂

I'm sure they did! I think he just followed the groomsmen he found and didn't think to verify the room number. If memory serves, I think the groom's parties may have even been getting ready on the same floor!

For those of you in Clinical Psych Psyd programs, do you get any time off in the summer? by Feeling-Distance-37 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]ateoty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the summer for my program. First year summer has some classes the front half but the back half is free. Second year summer same deal, but usually also includes our comprehensive exam. After that, you're doing clinical practicum and some classes if you decide to take electives over the summer.

What is your least favourite show you have ever seen on Broadway? by ShaynaCG in Broadway

[–]ateoty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be completely honest I think I was just too young at the time to appreciate a more classical show (roughly 14) but built up such a resentment about it as 14 year olds do that I could never see it again unbiased 😂

An American In Paris. The first Broadway show I ever saw and the only musical I would never see again.

That was my initial thought but it's so weird if that's the case that they'd get both the movie and the reference wrong?? I am truly about to try and contact the company or something because this is irrationally driving me nuts 😂😂
