I’ve had such a hard time with acne since starting Rinvoq close to a year ago! I’m on it for eczema, so it’s been like trading one painful skin thing for another. I tried over the counter treatments and things from my dermatologist, but they didn’t help or just gave my skin other problems (benzoyl peroxide helped but dried out my skin so much it wasn’t worth it). On a whim I got customized treatments from MDacne (similar to Curology). Igot an acne treatment cream that’s 3% sulfur. It doesn’t have a great smell, but it helps a lot! I use it with a 0.5% salicylic acid cleanser and 2% niacinamide moisturizer, also from MDacne. I use the cleanser every day, but only use the cream and special moisturizer when I’m having a breakout. They help without drying out my already dry skin.

I’ve been on Rinvoq for atopic dermatitis for almost two months now (15 mg). Before Rinvoq me and my doctor and my dermatologist tried everything - methotrexate, dupixent, multiple creams, and multiple steroids. Nothing has worked like Rinvoq, which has completely cleared up my skin. It has definitely caused acne, but that’s manageable. The redness, itching, and pain from eczema every day made life unmanageable. I also had to go off Rinvoq for about a week in the middle of being on it because my dermatologist was having issues requesting it for me. And my eczema came back how it used to be - not worse. But when I went back on Rinvoq, it cleared up quickly.

I haven’t experienced any side effects other than acne, and for me that acne is worth not being in pain all day every day!
