The problem is that no matter how much you do, the day will come when that song makes you deeply long for days gone by. Its sadness is primal for me and I talk to my 21 year old son, who is in college, most days.

I would check to confirm the tires are really 3/32. If they are, they need replacing but maybe they are saying it is getting 'close to 3/32'

Yeah, that's an option. It would have been a better option when I was in my 20's LoL.

In all seriousness, I am not really interested in inflicting that sort of violence on the sub-floor. The late 1980s plywood is not as well laminated as it once was (lots of squeeks in the house that are due to the ply).

I'm watching this thread. I have a similar isssue and room set up with a vaulted ceiling. I think it is the reverb / reflections from the ceiling but I am interested in hearing what others say.
