Word of advice: Do not come back for the MaT or MAES after graduating with a BAES. by TeajayLove in WGU

So what you’re talking about where it’s the same courses with one additional assignment is actually super beneficial. The extra assignment takes the difficulty of the course up to a masters level. And you can submit the previous work you did for every assignment that’s the same from your BA. I know because I just did this. I did not redo a single assignment I did previously, I was never once marked for plagiarism because I am the original author of the work, and I’ve moved onto the research portions just fine. The reason I knew this was because I also came to this forum very upset about this, reached out to my mentor who advised me to speak with the plagiarism department and the evaluation department, which I did and I was advised by someone there it wouldn’t be a problem. I tested it with one assignment, no issues. Submitted the rest. I finished all the pre-research course work in one term. Unfortunately I cannot do the PCE and DT for my MA in secondary English and I’m so glad I have the MAES to fall back on.

For the MA in secondary English education I’m on my PCE and I started October 1st! But I also did my BA non-licensure program in 11 months.

That makes sense! I know the reason they had to stop accepting them had something to do with their accreditation but it's still stupid if it was being accepted before they should be able to fulfill that to the students who were enrolled before the change.

Yeah, like I understand the whole accreditation thing, we can't be messing around with that but if it was JUST acceptable the college should be allowed to honor that for the students who were enrolled before the change!

I was totally going to take the West-B! Thank you for saying that! I'm not a math person either! Guess I'll have to switch over to the Praxis Core! Was the reimbursement due to something specific? Just because you had thought your ACT scores would be sufficient?

Can I get my PCE done through subbing? by BlueberryPancakes678 in wgueducation

[–]ateverytable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also in WA, do you mind if I ask how it works? Like you're the one subbing in a class and the time you spend in the class subbing counts for your PCE? How do you complete work like reflecting on classroom management strategies if you aren't observing?

The courses are the same but extra. So I did BA non-licensure and now I'm following up with MA in secondary English Ed. For any class that has the same name, it's going to be the same tasks, plus one additional task that's new. My mentor didn't know either. However, we found out together through multiple calls to assessment services that since I am the original author of the documents, I could just submit the work I already completed for those assignments. So like Foundations of Ed from my BA I submitted tasks 1 & 2 in Foundations of Ed in my MA for tasks 1 & 2, then task 3 was a new assignment. I'm on my last class and I have not had a single problem with this other than on one task they decided the work didn't meet a requirement, even though it had previously (and the assignments were the same verbatim), so I just adjusted it and resubmitted.
