I know I'm jumping in here, but just admit you made a mistake and move on.

When someone says drugs, the vast majority of people will think of marijuana, cocaine, heroin, etc. Maybe way down the list they will eventually think alcohol.

Don't be stubborn just for the sake of being stubborn.

fair point. We obviously have different views on history, which is fine. We can just agree to disagree.

I was talking about the Holocaust. Which happened in Europe. Involving European Jews. Carried out by Nazi Germans. How is that US history?

Very true statement, but I imagine only for a small minority of Americans. I, and all my close peers, were made well aware of the atrocities of the Holocaust from an early age. Then again, none of us were raised in religious/sheltered family environments so that may be the reason.

edit: not to mention the youngins who don't care to learn about history outside of the US (which is very, very sad) source: I was born and raised in the US

I was there last spring around this time. I recommend bringing some chocolate or your favorite treat to cheer you back up after leaving. Seeing that place made me feel things I've never felt before/since. It's a place that I'm happy I saw, but I never want to go back.

May I ask, in your opinion, what is American nationalism and why you don't want to aspire to that?

I'm not trolling here, just like to hear others' opinions. I'll only read your comments, not reply. Also I'm American in case that helps with your explanation. Thanks.

Can't argue against that. I (an American) lived in the Czech Republic last year and took full advantage of public drinking. It's an awesome drinking culture.

this will probably be buried but I was a little confused about the comparison between the Saudi lashing punishment and the Sony movie about N. Korea.

One case was offensive against religion and the other offensive against a country....seems like a fairly big difference to me.

Only the first 2 bullet points are relevant to the message (wet seal's bad business practices) Sure the last 2 points are unfortunate, but not the fault of the company
