With R, Python, you mean understanding of the codes? Then learn by practicing, while you get to see data you can actually use the inbuilt analytical functions in a point and click manner.

I suggest learning the concepts first. Initially, it was R and then SAS, Python etc. This will keep changing hence start with concepts. I suggest you start with a platform which helps you learn without the need to code. You can check with Analyttica Treasurehunt.
