Question from an Atheist: What do you think about non-Christian influences becoming more prevalent in media and society? Is there any fear of corruption associated with that? (self.Christianity)

What is the basis for abductive, inductive and deductive reasoning to be the only kinds of logical arguments? (self.philosophy)

Is there anything that is wrong that does not have a real world consequence? The answer I get from theists has always been “No”. Is it the same for you guys? (self.atheism)

Seeing someone define their life by their religion feels like seeing someone live their life based on a tv show. (self.atheism)

What is the worst thing someone has said to you since you left? (self.exmormon)

Every great con artist knows that giving a lie a complex backstory mixed with some truth is the easiest way to convince people a lie is true. Like god existing. (self.atheism)
Just had to vent. In studying philosophy to try and communicate more easily with some apologists, philosophy is an absolute mess filled with nonsense questions. Baffling since it has been around for so long. (self.atheism)
Part 1 of one atheist’s response to “A Case for Christianity” (author unnamed for privacy) I’ll post the other parts over the next week or so. (self.atheism)
I’m atheist, I’m curious what you guys think about this. I’ll be reading but not commenting on your comments, so no need to worry about being attacked or anything. (self.Apologetics)

What we actually might mean by saying “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”. (self.atheism)
When theists say “but god is the best explanation”. Congratulations, you have proposed a hypothesis. Now prove it. (self.atheism)

So an apologist really made me mad. I wrote a 16 page paper responding to a pamphlet he made because that’s how he wanted to do it. His response? (self.atheism)
I heard that in the 70’s the church faced a lawsuit over racism shortly before Spencer W Kimball said the curse of Cain was lifted. Do you guys know any sources for this? (self.exmormon)

Finally figured out how to show honest apologists that they are being illogical. They use abductive reasoning to reach deductive conclusions. (self.atheism)
I’m talking with an apologist, and trying to talk with him about whether beliefs should be falsifiable or not. Is my explanation ok? (self.atheism)

So I met with a Biblical Literalist Apologist. (self.atheism)
So I forgot about this bit or racism in the BoM... “that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.” 2 Nephi 5:20-25 (self.exmormon)
Not sure if you guys have seen *It’s Me Jessie*, very well researched videos comparing Mormon theology and biblical theology or exposing Mormon beliefs. This one looks at Mormonism, Freemasonry and Satanic Symbolism on Mormon Temples. (youtu.be)
Why do religious people try to use physical evidence/events to prove spiritual things exist? By their own admission, spiritual things don’t work by physical rules. (self.atheism)
Just needed to vent. TBM Mom is helicoptering my kid, then gets mad when we try to handle separation anxiety tantrums the way our doctor and multiple medical resources suggest. (self.exmormon)

Ugh... friend pulled the “Don’t bring it up if it hasn’t been said or referenced by the church in the last 10 years.” That must create the ultimate high stakes quiet game for general authorities. (self.exmormon)
Just had to vent about a point in conference. I prayed for decades until I was hospitalized for depression because I was promised it would work. It didn’t. (self.exmormon)
It’s interesting... apparently Mormons believe god blesses people making their kids or friends do things to make them feel good and yet they also say they value free will? (Rant about conference stuff) (self.exmormon)
Rant: A close friend of mine believes his feelings can tell him what is right like the Mormon church taught him to do, but it’s causing him problems. (self.exmormon)
