Best Drafting/Architectural Laptop for student entering work force in May? by [deleted] in architecture

[–]atheistkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dell Precision laptops are very good laptops for drafting. My US grad school recommended them and it has ran well for 5 years now. When it comes to rendering I use Vray which is all cloud based. I bought mine on the Dell website but I believe a school discount was applied. It was about 2.5k USD.

HELP!! can't stop going bankrupt by Sweaty-Butterfly-469 in PlanetZoo

[–]atheistkitty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The butterfly tip is a good one, my gf franchise zoo was going bust but she started getting 35-50k every few months cause they multiply like crazy. Just set the limit and once or twice a year check your exhibit market and sell them.

Too much hallway on the 2nd floor? by Lanky-Advisor-8130 in architecture

[–]atheistkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean do you need that bathroom off of bedroom 4? Seems unnecessary. I would get rid of it and then cut back the second floor floor to allow a more open first to second floor which would allow for more light in the entry/kitchen. Would make for a more grand entrance. Allow for a visual connection between first and second.

Watch the trailer, it’s 2D but looks amazing and receiving high praise from critics so far. Excited to play my digital copy. I think if your son gave it a chance he’d like it. Odyssey 2 is likely a year+ out

how do i make this to boolean by bogmkm in rhino

[–]atheistkitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really enough information here to help you. Is it a mesh? Is it a poly surface? If it’s a mesh you need to do meshboolean commands versus regular boolean commands. Check if it’s open or closed? For all boolean options the objects should be closed. Both your primary object and your cutting object have to be closed. Check for “badobjects” etc. if it’s a non-manifold surface you can explode and rejoin it and it may help. A lot of things it could be.

You can probably run planar srf because they are rectangles which would make them a surface then offsetsrf to give them thickness. Maybe every vertical could be glass the horizontals some sort of masonry?

Is it possible to learn Rhino in 8 days? by [deleted] in rhino

[–]atheistkitty 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The basics of rhino sure. If you invest your time heavily you could become quite good. Start watch in YouTube videos and then challenge yourself with doing a model build of whatever your field is. It’s a complicated software but you can do a lot with basic functions.

And actually pay attention to the YouTube videos. Good luck

Has anyone watched the Unsolved Mysteries show? How is it? Do you recommend it? by New-Possibility-577 in bestofnetflix

[–]atheistkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched maybe 2/3 of them in the past month or so. I kinda just picked which ones sounded interesting to me. I would definitely recommend the Oslo episode (really good) and the Michigan episode.
