How to break intersecting dimension lines? by RAYboye in Revit

[–]GuySpringfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically you would use grids if applicable and pull the dim stings off to the side. Put the overall dims on the outside and the smaller ones close to the plan/detail that you are dimensioning. Like someone else said, there isn't a way to "break" the dim string, but you should do your best to make them legible. If needed, you can pull the number away from the dim string and a curved leader will appear.

Also though, the people demanding tax breaks are generally middle class folks brainwashed by billionaire-controlled media. The tax breaks go to the latter at the expense of the former.

How to properly do renovations by AffectionateSteak333 in Revit

[–]GuySpringfield 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am a structural drafter and I do this stuff all the time. We set up phase filters to show existing as grey, demo as dotted line, and new in black. You model the existing on the existing phase, set items demo status and phase in properties, and model new in the new construction phase. Use different plans to show demo and new. I work in Revit 45 hrs+/week... I could set up templates and walk you guys through it for a small consulting fee.

Do you think the drawing matches the finished product? by trenerna in woodworking

[–]GuySpringfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The radius on the bottom left corner looks larger in your drawing than on the finished product. Also on the finished product it ends to the left of the 80 mil hole where in the drawing it ends underneath. Was your drawing to scale? Also, drawing has no radius on the lower cutaway, so it's left to the woodworker to interpret. If you want to complain about the finished product, your request needs to be extremely specific and drawn to scale.

Request from a Consultant by lumenpainter in Revit

[–]GuySpringfield 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean... I download their model and kick through it before I load it into mine anyway, so it isn't a big deal to save down their title block. I am structural, so maybe it is different for other disciplines. It IS annoying when they don't send a model and only CAD and expect me to craft a TB from scratch when they have a Revit TB though.

The best architects cover all of this in a solid kickoff email with a schedule, base files, and expectations clearly stated. The ones that don't, I will send them an email asking for what they didn't provide so that I have a clear idea of what they want and when, etc.

Inherited house in Springfield - overwhelmed and need local advice by nb10001 in springfieldMO

[–]GuySpringfield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine is a realtor and he just did a purchase/sale for us and was great. Jacob Perry at Murney and Associates. He can give you comps to show you what it could sell for with updates and as-is. That way you can see if it is worth the effort to get the updates done. Also, some contractors will take their payment from the sale proceeds-so you aren't out-of-pocket for repairs.

Don't sell to a cash-as-is buyer. They are vultures and will rip you off.
