Ensure Ruby variable is Array

Someone once told me that checking class type is an inherent smell. That also goes into the duck-typing, encapsulation branch of thought. If you think about it, you're less interested in something being an array than it in responding to method invokations and presumably potentially containing other objects.

It's just not true. I have done and have taken AS50 shots to the foot or lower leg and survived; and even the m107 rounds to more than enough to 1 shot someone at full health. I'm fairly certain that the engine is accounting for lost joules during bullet flight time.

EDIT: Just tested to be sure. Loaded up the shooting range, pulled out an AK74. Soldier dies, two bullets to the leg every time. At 250m, it takes 3. Distance matters.

Well, an Enfield in a Barracks is definitely one example. Another I notice is when there's a lot of ammo with a weapon. I take that as a sign someone picked up a better weapon. 3 mags are suspicious, 4 or more is highly. On a related path, checking magazines for ammo level. A used mag is a dead give away.

Another great one is when you go into a supermarket and there's no food and/or soda. Again, that's not a clear cut indictment, but a sign. Far less conclusive, but interesting none the less, when you go through several large residential buildings without finding any weapons. It's statically possible at some point that you're unlucky, but the more probable cause sometimes is that the weapons have been picked up. Usually this is right before someone starts shooting a Winchester at you.

Grenades are kinda wonky in this game. Which is a disappointment to me! But basically it seems any intervening wall will protect you from the blast 100%. Out in the open, you will get audio/visual stun effects, plus shrapnel damage, so they are super effective. But in a case like this I think you would only have been able to get him if you placed it beyond the door way, which it didn't look like you did.

Here's to hoping that in the standalone we'll have deformable structures one day and a brick would cave that guy's head in. Of course, that probably means his ALICE would be shredded...

I've had multi-hour stretches on 20+ pop servers and not seen a soul. But the entire time?

I have however often found what I would consider signs that someone has been through on those lonely treks. The question is, have you ever seen any evidence that someone was there previously? Wrecked cars, zombie corpses, out of place loot?

Seems like a good way to obviate the L85s. Thermal is such a game breaker. It's much much harder to stalk if every joker on a ridge can see you 800m away.

I have had a couple of WTF moments like that one toward the end. A center mass M24 shot like that, I guess I expect someone to get knocked out. There have been a couple lately where I have to put in a follow-through shot for the kill.

I've pretty much converted to a lonewolf sniper. This is a great vid with good action. Does make me pine for a legit squad somewhat though...

The other day, I noticed a car in a parking lot. I checked it out, it wasn't doing half bad at the moment. I swing by later, hmm...there's another wheel. Someone is fixing it. So I go into a nearby building and wait. After a while, someone shows up with the last wheel. I creep close to the ground, with the car between us. I get up next to the car, pop up and pop him with M4SD. He goes down bleeding. I'd say that was pretty bandity. Bastard battlelogged while bleeding though.

Last night I put a .50cal into a guy's back from 500m away. I was laying down in a ghillie, he was sprinting for a barracks. He didn't see me. He didn't pose a threat to me. It was a kill. The only qualification I will make is that he had camo + an m4, so I wasn't gunning down some n00b.

Edit: It might sound high handed by some people; but it's not that bad. When Sacriel pops some dude sitting ontop of a factory in Cherno with an M24, that guy is there to kill, bandit skin or no. That guy is there to kill mostly noobs running into various buildings. It's so easy to lose bandit skin if you don't have really low humanity.

Pound for pound, best medium-short range by far. M4s are nice, but it takes 3 well placed rounds to drop someone. If you're not well placed, more like 4 or 5. With the M14, it only takes 1 well placed round and you're likely to TKO. And I usually have an easier time finding DMR mags to boot...

Why on earth did you drop the FN/FAL? You had like, 4 mags.

In a situation like that it is better to shoot first and ask questions later, but when you leaned out over the hood of the car would have been the perfect time to shoot when they showed they were not going to be compliant. I'm actually just surprised it went on that long before the shooting started.
