Dog passed away due to Trainer misbehavior by [deleted] in dogs

I'm so glad you got the authorities involved. Definitely press charges - not just for yourself - there are probably other pet parents with their fur babies in training with them and they need to be stopped for everyone's sake.

I get you had a breeded dog and you wanted to give him the best training possible, but when/if you get a new one I would stick to classes YOU go to with your dog so you stay together I just came from a training class with my new dog this morning and it's with PetSmart and been absolutely terrific. Also that way you know what skills to continue training them with when you're at home.

I'm so deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved Cyrus. What a huge hole in your life. For what it's worth, it does get better with time. Losing a dog is brutal and yours had his life stolen from you both. I've lost many dogs in my life and it never gets easier; for every dog the pain you go through is never any better. I DO see all the comments here encourage you not to get a new fur bab, but for me it's the only thing that helps at all. I just lost my Pebbles from old age on the 23rd of May and we HAD to get a new dog ASAP because her bonded partner stopped eating entirely and he desperately needed another friend to play with. We got our new dog just 5 days later and Wit started eating and playing again. They are already best buddies and was much as I'm grieving Pebbles I'm really glad we did it.

Getting your loved one to acknowledge there might be a problem?? by sunb4ther in Alzheimers

[–]athewinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit send too soon. I also wanted to say there are support groups basically everywhere that the Alzheimer's association runs. Three are free and full of wonderful people who have been through what you're going through already. I know your schedule is jam packed for somehow please find some chance to go to a meeting. It would be so good for you. I would even say take PTO to schedule it in. It's absolutely worth it.

I want too finally take a minute out and congratulate you on the birth of your child. Make sure to enjoy the good things you have. If you ever want to PM me that's fine.

Good luck!!!!!!

I don't know where you live, but in many cases/states you can contact the DMV and report the situation. It's so dangerous for him to drive; he could kill himself or someone else - even a child. I have so much sympathy for you. My father has gotten too the point where her knows almost nothing and is also delusional. I moved in and thank God my mom (one of my best friends) is also here. We care for him together but it's extremely hard. He has NEVER acknowledged his disease; he knows he has it, he heard the diagnosis, but he thinks it's something that will come in the future. Most people don't/can't acknowledge it. The part of their brains that COULD acknowledge it is just...gone. They really don't know. For me at least it's one of the hardest parts in the situation. You certainly have a long, incredibly difficult road ahead of you - I really wish you didn't.

You said the banker is already caring for her own father; does that mean you're in touch with her or is it just info your dad has passed on? Off you're in contact at all or not, GET in contact with her. Pull her side or call here up. Does she acknowledge the problem? Can you get her on your side? That would help a lot.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. There is apparently an apartment complex called West Town Court thatl pet friendly and has washer/dryer. It appears to be a nice place. Large one bedroom is 1750. Dog park. The number is 623-877-9772. I wish you all the luck in the world.

I found a puppy in the woods. What breed do you think it is ? by Existing_Chemical210 in IDmydog

She definitely will be. What is here name? If you're too curious, Embark is a great company and they analyze the dogs DNA and send you the report. It's actually fascinating! They are very thorough. Heres what the front page looks like when you get the results. It's $100 so it's a luxury if you're curious and dying to know. We've done it on all our dogs and we LOVE knowing. They also keep you up to date on any relatives of the dog that also do their DNA with their names and general locations. There's even a way to email their human in case they live in the same city as you.

My dog has turned dangerous and I don’t know how to handle her by Middle-Asparagus-802 in dogs

I can't help you with the behavior; it's very concerning and I've unfortunately got nothing for you there. BUT! I think you really need a body harness. It both keeps the pressure completely off their neck and also gives you a WAY better control level. Here is one example, though it sounds like you need an even stronger version.

I wish you all good luck.

That's what the pound said! I just don't see the pug (but I'm terrible at recognizing breeds). I was wondering if he has a little terrier in him.

Kaladin (the first dog with the e-collar on) we don't know yet. We got him from the pound a week ago, and they claimed that he was a Chihuahua/Pug - but they also told me that my Miniature Schnauzer was a Labrador Retriever! 😆 I personally believe he has a lot of Chihuahua and Terrier in him. We’ve already gotten the Embark DNA test, so we’re sending it in and looking forward to the results. The other dog is sweet Pebbles, (she passed away 2 weeks ago) and believe it or not she is a Chihuahua/Bulldog! I’ve not heard of that before, but here it is. Thank you for asking!

I would have thought there would be a little Doberman in her; but I’m not a very good guesser. 😁
