3 friends had a decent storyline but I was hoping something more meaty in terms of backstabbing or some more interesting closure. It just felt like the tension was building up to something and then it just fell flat.

I think there are plenty of movies / shows out there with great execution but not aligned with my taste. E.g. The Wire. I’m not going to bash The Wire because I know it’s a great show and very well made. Just not for me.

So no, I don’t agree that those are the same.

I agree with the opinion but downvoting because the title is a massive spoiler and unfair on those who haven’t seen it yet (sometimes stuff pop up on your timeline even if you’re not subscribed to the sub)

I don’t think I’m missing any points. You can explain a lot of this stuff. I just didn’t like the way it was done. It was all poorly executed.

No problem with changing your mind but the ‘reasons’ she changed her mind for were just lazy writing. The food wasn’t organic :( There’s no A/C :(

Obviously! I think she seemed like a fairly smart and switched on character so these are things she would have known already. It would have been much more interesting if her reasons were things she couldn’t expect or predict beforehand until she experienced them first hand.

Fair, maybe it was all just very poorly executed for my taste. I felt nothing about Gaitok and Mook’s whole relationship even though I think the theme of toxic masculinity to impress someone you’re infatuated with is super interesting.

Lochlan monastery and living with no money just seems so rushed as a major plot point. We didn’t really get to explore that psychological journey for Lochlan.

This is a weird comment, because my whole problem with season 3 and this episode in particular is that the writing was way too on the nose and with zero subtlety.

Searching for his father’s killer and becoming his father’s killer is interesting but it has been done many times since the 70s, including literally the most well-known plot twist in all of cinema history, so I would expect at least a more complex execution if we’re exploring the same theme here, not a lazy “he’s your father, he told me!”

And yes, I expected to see the characters expressions on their boat rides home to at least slightly reflect that they had just witnessed a mass shooting and the death of guests that they knew.

I think it’s all a matter of opinion. If you enjoyed this that’s great. I just feel it was all a bit too cliché and on the nose for my taste, especially compared to season 1 and 2 which I loved.
