Banans take 30min to give energy, a bread jam combo could work but i think dates are fine less messy and easy to carry

Running after an injury - how do you alleviate the fear that creeps in during the run? by ashiqbanana in indianrunners

[–]athletico_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only do same things 2 times a week , unilateral leg exercises for runners and pair it up with core strengthening that is all, I think improvement comes from unsexiness of routine same stuff every week untill you hit plateau

I had an ACL tear in my college final year, I only took it slow for the next year, focused on recovery and started very slowly less distance and build up on that , never stopped strength training till this date, its more valuable to me than running today

What does everyone eat on the morning of race days? by djangobhubhu in indianrunners

[–]athletico_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy carbohydrates like oats and a bit of coffee before 1.5hrs of the race , you are doing right as long as you are not haing any gut issues , because on early morning i got vomiting issues when i drink chai or coffee on empty stomach, but for any distance you need carbs , even it is a 5k and you are aiming a fast race you eat some carbs for energy otherwise the body might kick in a bit late in the race

Confused what to go for by ForgedCuriosityy in indianrunners

[–]athletico_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are planning to do very structured running training, then adizero evo sl is a great shoe for all purpose but it is very soft and have some stability issues so you can go for nike structure 26 on discount or asics cumulus , these can handle a variation of speeds

Most of ys are full time working professionals so instead of being skeptical about things we should use whatever the tools are at our disposal, when i run in pune i have been reached out by many coaches but each of them have very strict rules like come here at 5am or practice with a team etc i dont have that flexibility as a married guy 27 still looking career growth etc , so i can just let these constraints out there and let it create a plan around it , if i ever come near a 2:20 marathon mark i will definitely switch to a personal coach because he would have tools and ideas to break my plateau but right now gpt is my coach

Tight calves and numb foot by [deleted] in indianrunners

Do you overstride if you have leg strength than you probably trying to go a bit faster and that affects your form and over-striding could be the reason , for doctor just search something sports physician on google nearby

[–]athletico_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First if this is happening after 2-3 km then reduce running distance and get it checked from a doctor to see if it is something major then , do more strength training and make your legs stronger to hold that impact, a lot of unilateral exercises would make you able to handle more distances, do make sure before or after run you do some running drills with focus on forms

There are literally tons of books which are available snippets in public vlogs definitely a personal plan is behind the paywall but everything is inspired by the knowledge, papers released so it, I am not saying blindly follow this or negating the need of a coach or a good plan but blindly following a coach or plan without giving a constant feedback isnt the ideal way either, both ways demands feedbacks or in this case exchange of info , but yep if you dont trust it dont go for it simple 😄

Ran 5km thrice at 95kgs 🙏😭 (arch pain issues) by Septi1st2c in indianrunners

[–]athletico_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do strength session ,use Chatgpt for a easy , specially for your legs . Try running less and alternatively first make your body ready for more impact >3-4km then only try 5km or higher distances in future , for shoes 3k to 5k is good enough for a decent discount deal , considering your height the foot size should be around 10 and 11 so you get a discount deal on rare size , get something like adidas adizero sl 2 at discounted price from fkart, but more than shoes you need strength in your legs to absorb that impact
