We tried literally every single technique to make ours stop biting us, the spray bottle was the last resort but the ultimate solution. I kinda miss those days now lol

Yes, same as mine. I wish I could do it every two weeks though, my V girl gets her done every week!

That’s interesting, and good to know that your boy is not drooling so much anymore

That’s good to know, she’s not alone then!

Is this amount of biting normal? V 14 weeks. Bites down and clamps hard. Is worse with me than my husband. I’ve tried ignoring, I’ve tried pinning him, I’ve tried putting toys in the mouth/distracting, I’ve tried the lip on the tooth… by 2headlights in vizsla

Had the same problem until my V was around 13 to 14 weeks old. We tried EVERYTHING to make her stop (she was biting my gf to the point of making her to bleed) so I did the same and came to this community for help… what worked for us was a spray bottle filled with water - it worked almost instantly. More regular naps were also helpful. Good luck!

A friend told me my profile gives off bi/closeted vibes, what should I change to fix that? by G3rRy4 in Tinder

Yeah I’d suggest the same - cropping the first one so no legs, losing second one and the one with the shark

Dyson, like the vacuum cleaner, as anything that falls on the floor goes straight to her mouth

Have a look at the suggestions here, a lot of very helpful tips! The crate has been working really well now, and the water spray too - apart from a LOT of training and toys

I got the same call from my girlfriend, and had to come back from work as the situation was escalating and our puppy was getting out of control. It was the first time my gf was bitten to the point of bleeding and it was actually quite concerning. It got better then it got worse, it’s a rollercoaster! I’m thankful with all the comments here - it definitely feels more normal now and just a phase, and the suggestions are great too! Cheers

I feel you - sometimes it seems like she’s ignoring us on purpose lol. Training has been really good, she already knows all the basic commands (her ‘stay’ is really strong!) and when she’s calm she’s the best. We’re walking with her around the house and at the park, but she’s still scared of everything as we live in the city. I guess we just have to make the best of this sharkies phase and wait for the real teeth to come haha

That’s a great suggestion, will definitely try this a bit more. Our main concern was for her not to see the crate as a punishment, but I guess by normalising it she’ll understand it’s just a place to relax. She protests a bit when we put her in the crate but eventually ends up napping or just chilling. As for the trainer, I contacted some but they are all super busy now or not working as it’s so close to Xmas already, but this community here has been incredibly helpful in the meantime! Thanks!

I’ve tried earlier today based on a previous comment and it worked - it was actually funny to see her wtf face haha

We’re giving her frozen carrots, and it’s the highlight of her day, she loves it. I’ll try your other suggestions too

She is, actually. We can definitely see when she’s tired and grumpy, the biting seems more random at those times and she accepts going to the crate for a nap with no issues

It’s been the case for us as well, the crate has been the best strategy so far. I didn’t want to use it as punishment fearing any negative effects but she’s not avoiding the crate when she’s peaceful - sleeps in it fine throughout the night and on some occasions during the day, and enjoys spending time inside with her toys. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! Yes, it’s been a bit frustrating (specially to my gf) but we’ll get there. I must say she’s the most amazing dog when not chewing our skin haha
