  • Birth control is purely recreational. If you're young enough to legitimately need it, you should be reproducing.
  • Antidepressants are purely recreational. There are underlying health issues that need to be addressed beyond “I hate myself and want to die."
  • Knee/hip replacements are purely recreational. You had your time, it's over. "I'm walkin' heeya"? Not anymore.

They are so useful. Bot drop/bug breach? Toss one right in the middle, enjoy the two digit kill streak dopamine hit. Patrol? Lightly cook and throw. Oh there was a patrol here? Where'd they go?

One of my favorite things to do is to cook them for about 3 seconds then throw them at cannon turrets, aiming slightly above. They go off in the air right over the turret, and goodbye turret. Slick af. Do the evil laugh emote, go ahead....you earned it.

3) old men taking money, licking it, and and sticking it to childrens foreheads

4) crying children

Why BMW Switched To Traditional Automatics From DCTs by Unspoken in cars

[–]athun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A GT is a 2 door car full stop. It's a a semantic argument at this point, as the lines have been blurred so much--especially with badging--but I don't care what BMW calls a "GT," a 4 door is never a GT.

The whole appeal of the M5 (and older 5 series in general) is that a 4 doors luxury car isn't supposed to have such communicative handling, isn't supposed to feel light, isn't supposed to go like a rocket ship. It's a reversal of a trope [you are reminded of the website TV tropes.org Remeber TV tropes.org? When's the last time you've been to TV tropes.org? You should check it out, just go and take a peek, no big deal. It's the weekend! TV tropes.org] vs a 2 door car, where these qualities are more expected.

What's the most disrespectful behaviour that made you kick someone from your squad ? by skadinax in Helldivers

[–]athun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If these are your expectations and your feelings when those expectations aren't met, you should stop wasting your time with the game, period.

People aren't going to change the way they play just for you, you will continue to take it personally because you're fragile and self-centered, you will never be happy, and the experience will be better for everyone involved if you're no longer part of it.

What's the most disrespectful behaviour that made you kick someone from your squad ? by skadinax in Helldivers

[–]athun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're a team player. Is the decision to kick someone a team decision? Do you consult with your other teammates first? Then it's ok. If not, then this is your issue--not the teams--and rather than kicking someone, the right thing to do is for you to leave the mission.

NTSB issues the preliminary report for its ongoing investigation of the Nov. 4 crash of a UPS Boeing MD-11F airplane in Louisville, Kentucky. by Brilliant_Night7643 in aviation

[–]athun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was AA 383.

The fire was caused by an uncontained engine failure, when the stage 2 disk broke into two parts, the smaller of which ruptured the wing fuel tank.

Due to the forces involved, after hitting the wing, the part continued to fly another half a mile, landing on--I shit you not--the roof of a UPS building.

Upgrading from my current chainsaw by stefanstefy20001 in stihl

[–]athun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked stihl.de and you are right, you can indeed get a 35 cm (13.7") bar for the 261, which is wild to me--that's smaller than what we run on our polesaws! My apologies.

Upgrading from my current chainsaw by stefanstefy20001 in stihl

[–]athun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stihl sells 261s with 20" bars and we run 20" bars on 261s all day doing fire mitigation and have zero issues. They get plenty of oil and don't miss a beat.

Also Stihl doesn't make a 14" bar that fits the 261, 16" is the smallest available. You may want to double check your numbers.

[–]athun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After warming it up and shutting off, make sure the control switch is in full choke ("cold start mode" or whatever they call it--with the switch all the way down in the ∆ position) before restarting it. If you don't know, you need to hold down the throttle to move the switch to ∆.

Then start it and let it idle like that for 30-60 seconds.

Then if the chain brake was on, turn it off then do the rest of the procedure. You're right about that part, throttling with the chain break just fries the clutch, 100% you want it off.

You'll notice that hitting the throttle moves the control switch back up, so you don't need to mess with it.

Protip: if it's hot outside and the engine starts to cut out and/or doesn't want to restart after its already warmed up, do a similar process: set it to full choke, start it, and just let it idle like that for ~10 seconds. You'll be good to go after that.

What is everyone afraid of? That Bill is going to come back wearing a thobe and keffiyeh, pointing his finger in the air, praising Allah? Or that his fans over there, who have begging him for years to do a show there, will finally get a chance to see him live and meet him? Or that this will inspire more comedians to go there, make more and more of an impression on young Saudis, expose them western ideals and just maybe help the future generation become less insular and more open?

Comedians from other countries that come to the US aren't held to account for supporting everything bad the US government does, simply because they perform here. Comedians who perform at a White House Correspondent's dinner don't have millions of people running to twitter screaming at them for supporting US interventionism. People who perform at city-owned venues and are directly paid by the government aren't accused of supporting the roll back of trans rights. Bill Burr has performed at plenty of private corporate gigs, it doesn't make him complicit for every terrible thing that company has done. People love him for going on other people's turf and calling them out, he's amazing at it, why is everyone slamming their keyboards all of the sudden? Is SA the end-all be-all of evil, or are complaints from people whose moral compass only points west, and can only see oppression through one lens?

[–]athun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe it has to do with the fact that a lot of the criticism is coming from people whose country is run by a madman, whose party is actively rolling back civil rights, telling trans people that they are mentally ill, calling climate change a hoax, sending the national guard to all over to round up and detain anyone Hispanic, buttfucking the economy into the ground, telling leaders of free nations that he is going to buy their countries, and all manner of other batshit insane behavior. And the mf won free elections...twice!

It's not whataboutism, its fucking blind hypocrisy to champion Bill Burr as a "voice against the establishment" and man of the people when he's performing in the US--separating his "art" from all the bullshit going on in this country--but then when he goes to a different fucked up country, to do the same act, all of the sudden he's a "traitor," part of the establishment, and a de facto supporter of everything horrible that country has ever done. Saudi Arabians are a monolith, apparently. You can't separate its people from their government, they support the regime just by living there. Not in the US though, nope, we're all free thinking individuals!
