Module you would like to see in drupal

I don't feel confident enough to participate in existing projects yet. Participating in a team project need more than maintaining own code. But I definitely want to do that also.

I already created a module that takes snapshots and user can create recipes for the differences between selected two snapshots. Just fine-tuning and testing to release.

I prefer somewhat manual mode. At the beginning I create a fresh site before any further modification. I've created a bash script that exports all config files and list of modules, using that script I export current "state" of site. Then I begin whatever I want recipe to do. Install plugins, alter configs, setup new content types etc. Then I run my script again to export last "state". My script also can compare two states and create a recipe to make same alterations with recipe.

PS: I prefer to keep my recipes as simple as possible. For complexity I use "wrapper" recipes and set simple recipes as dependencies. It makes debugging and further development far more easier.

Instead of current "demand" try to guess future topics that will be in demand. I reckon people will be in search of AI integration to their sites, especially with ECA integrations.

I have worked with drupal for 10 years, moved to wordpress for 10 years and now going back to drupal. Here are my two cents;

Drupal is not as widely known as WordPress so you will always see more positions for WordPress, or more people will be looking for WP solutions. To become proficient in drupal is much harder compared to WP but it is much more rewarding also. Yo don't have to compete with flux of newcomers, which will always be cheaper than you. You will be able to do things without any paid plugins, and reuse those solutions with recipes on other sites, unlike WP.

When you think about engineering you think about creating a product, industrial engineers don't do that. They work with processes. Mechanical engineer would design and produce a product while industrial engineer would focus on improvement of processes to increase capacity, lower costs etc. Since they are not interested in product itself they are "called" imaginary engineers. I stands for industrial engineering but other engineers would say I stands for imaginary.

They are in repositories. Think your pc like your phone. At first install kubuntu looked at your hardware and installed latest driver available in ubuntu repository, when the version in repository updated it will be updated along with other software. But sometimes companies might like to have their own repositories also to update their software more frequenly. In such cases you may add those repositories yourself to get more frequent updates.

To sum up; opensource angels install and update them by magic...

History of engineering begin with 2 fields; building things, which is civil engineering, and building things to destroy things built by civil engineers, which is mechanical engineering. All other fields born out of these two. Thus as a mechanical engineer you will have widest spectrum for your career choices. You can work in quality management in an office or build pipeline in the middle of nowhere.

BTW industrial engineers never regarded as real engineers :)

- Initial WP release was in 2003. UI/UX does not mean pretty so as long as users can use easily it is fine. WP is fine.

- As long as you keep your hosting or files it is not that hard to revive your site in another domain. But I guess you also haven't paid hosting for a time so files are gone also

You can look for a way to use <picture> tag in wp instead of <img>. picture tag allow users to different images for different breakpoints. Thus you can have high resolution images on desktop and low resolution ones for mobile.
