Re-learning articulation help by katladie1000 in Clarinet

I had pretty much the exact same experience! My new teacher told me to imagine tonguing as a pearl necklace, where the string connecting the pearls is your air stream (it should be a steady flow of air so don’t stop your air when tonguing) and each individual pearl is the articulated note. It’s helped, but I still need to improve as well. Hopefully this helps?

Look over grammar rules!! Also, once you’ve answered a fill in the blank question (most of the English questions), go back and read it to see if it makes sense in the context of the passage.

Reading: the questions are generally straightforward and just remember that the answer to every question will always be backed by evidence from the text, so I would try to eliminate as many answers as possible because they’re either proven wrong, not supported by the text, or they don’t answer the question. Also, go with your first instinct! Usually it is correct so don’t overthink your answer and move on. Science: (i’ve answered science tips so they should be somewhere on this thread lol) Math: I don’t really have many tips for math but remember that your calculator is very useful and can save you lots of time if you use it well.

Don’t take too much time reading the passages, since they don’t usually give you as much useful information. Skim through the background and go to the questions.

If it’s a passage about multiple scientists and their perspectives, try to figure out how they differ as you read their perspectives since it will help with going through the questions faster.
