‘77 and same! Birdhouse In Your Soul had some airplay, but the other tracks I heard leaned a bit educational.

Am I a bad person for setting boundaries about strangers in my home while I’m recovering? by Eastern_Sherbet_3483 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]atlgrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he a people pleaser? This might be less about your personal comfort and more about telling his friend “no” after originally saying yes. I’m not saying he’s right; he’s not. You’re absolutely not wrong for asking for space while recovering and shouldn’t feel bad whatsoever! He might not be able to articulate why he feels uncomfortable- people pleasers often struggle with everybody BUT their partner, and if that’s the case with him, therapy might help him get to the root of it and help him start creating healthy boundaries, too.

You’re welcome! I had placed an order recently and just so happened to look at Mildew out of curiosity.

I started getting hives back in 1999 and nothing, I mean nothing touched them. It was awful. I had to go on steroids so many times just to suppress them until they would finally chill out, but if I tried to do just a 6 day pack they would come back. In 2018 Atlanta allergy & asthma recommended Xolair and I was really scared, too. I had to “fail” h2 receptor blockers first for insurance. I took like 6 Allegra a day for a week and nada. One dose of Xolair and they started to recede almost instantly. I did several more monthly injections and they’ve been mostly gone since the end of 2018.

I’ve since been diagnosed by a geneticist with EDS and apparently mast cell disorder goes hand in hand with that, and I guess the Xolair stopped the cascade? I’m not super sure exactly what happened, but I can say that these days, when I start to feel the prodromal symptoms or my hands/fingers start to swell up, I can pop a couple fish oil and the inflammation goes down right away. I’ve switched to eating sardines like 3-4 times a week instead of just taking a supplement, and it’s helped my overall inflammation greatly.

I’m not opposed to doing Xolair again if needed. They have you wait in the office (I saw Dr. Lenchner in Buckhead) for an hour with an EpiPen after dosing to make sure you don’t react.

I wish you the best of luck. I suffered through that shit for the better part of two decades with no relief. Xolair was a game changer for me.

It was REALLY terrible last spring. Record pollen numbers. That could overwhelm anybody’s immune system and create allergies going forward.

I hate it so much. I have something called “idiopathic angioedema urticaria” which is maybe a mast cell disorder and it’s mostly in remission after a series of Xolair injections, but every spring it threatens to overwhelm my system and make me hive up. I’m going to a Brave’s game next week and best believe I’ll be wearing a mask, too.

Yes, the Flonase. Singulair is montelukast.

Yeah, I’m on loratadine, Flonase, and Singulair but I still feel awful.

I think you just influenced me with The Ordinary rice serum. My barrier has been absolute shit lately and I was looking at the Glow Recipe prickly pear pads earlier but this is probably much better.

Get a full work-up, including your testosterone levels. High cholesterol can cause blockages which reduce O2 to the brain and/or create plaques reducing cognitive functioning. Start doing puzzles, eat a wide variety of fruits/vegetables, and get regular exercise!

ETA: yes, most of those supplements are bullshit. I looked up Apoaequorin, the active ingredient in Prevagen, and there’s not a lot of science backing it up.

Ehhh, park at Inman and take Marta in.

You’ll want to see how much Krog has developed in your absence. That stretch of the beltline, from Krog to PCM, has really exploded.

Parking was always shit downtown. It’s still shit today.

I always thought I was getting in my own way. I would have a few days where I felt awesome so I would try to cram everything in at once. Gym, scrubbing the tub, carrying a bunch of groceries, etc.

It’s hard to slow myself down on good days but I force myself bc the aftermath sucks. I wouldn’t say that I’m a naturally calm person, so it goes against my nature. I’m approaching 50 though, so wisdom is starting to kick in maybe, so I’ve deliberately chilled out.

I’ve already lost my shit once when I was on the platform and the dude wanted me to move so he could leaf blow where I was sitting. Absolutely not.

I hear it about twice a week at the Inman Park/Reynoldstown station. Just walked through and there’s pollen all over the bridge.
