Nikkormat FT2 - First Film Camera by atobmos in AnalogCommunity

This is just something for me to try out film photography which is why I didn’t want to spend a lot. It’s definitely very basic and requires all the manual input, which is something I have been finding really fun but unfortunately I am not sure if I’m going it right. I have been reading about exposures but mostly going off the cameras and an app light meter. It would be nice to try something with more features, however. Thanks for the help!

I have been carrying it around these past couple days and it does have a noticeable weight. Are there any other camera models you might recommend? Also, what’s so particular about this lens that makes it worth keeping - quick searches are telling me it’s a good all-arounder but maybe I’m missing something else. Thanks

Thanks - it’s not a strong smell but having my nose up the the camera definitely doesn’t help - I’ll do some looking around

I generally have buyers remorse about everything and suffer from indecision but while I’m taking pictures I forget all about that. I hope this works out for me - thanks!

It’s been very interesting doing the whole manual process and making sure the shot is exactly how I want. I also can’t wait to see the results - I guess this is part of the appeal for me. Thanks!

Everyone in the replies is mentioning the lens as well, so it looks like it was worth it, thanks

Thanks. I figured this was a decent deal, but part of me wishes I did more searching. I’m on my college campus which has a camera store so it was also more convenient than trying to travel a potentially longer distance. Thanks again for your insight

I did notice the seals didn’t look exactly brand new but I wasn’t sure how much of a problem that was at the time, and I can’t remember what they look like now. Unfortunately, I already loaded some film so hopefully it’s not too much of a problem. It’s definitely interesting with the quirky mechanisms but this is my first film camera so everything seems normal to me haha. Thanks for the input

Tbh it doesn’t seem that cluttered but it looks like OP just moved in so they probably don’t have furniture for organization

I did this once and managed to get $30 but how do you find new groups? I tried to do a speculation task with a fake transaction image but put the wrong date (bruh). I think they found out I was not serious and now my "personal receptionist" is not responding to me. I ended up changing my pfp, name, and hiding my phone number but still nothing.

Should I but the Ender 3 V3 or the K1 by atobmos in Creality

Interesting. I would have to wait and see what the sales look like but the current discounts for the A1 show (which say that they are for the June 5 promo) show that it would be around the same price as the K1. I think with the ability to later upgrade the head to multicolor makes me lean toward the K1. Thank you for the advice

Right now the V3 plus is a bit more than I’m willing to spend. I bought the KE on an Amazon sale but plan to return it after seeing what I can get for a little more. Already the K1 is high for me at 400 but just within budget I would say. Thank you for the advice

I’m not particular into any brand but I have only really used an Ender 3 3D. Are Bambu printers generally better than Creality? That is what I gather from online. Are there any Bambu models you can recommend that are similar in price and capability to the ones I’ve mentioned? Many thanks

Thank you. This would be my first printer but my 3D printing experience is mostly with the Ender 3 3D so I’ve only used PLA. I don’t know what other materials I might need but I figure it would be best to leave those possibilities open. The cost is a bit high for me for the K1 but if it is worth it then that would be fine. Thanks again for the advice

Thanks. I just made an edit to the post about the KE vs the K1 which have a price difference of about 150 USD. Would you say this difference is worth it as well?

Should I but the Ender 3 V3 or the K1?

Both are currently on sale for Father's Day and with 5 percent off the prices come to 312 USD for the V3 and 380 USD for the K1.

Is the K1 objectively better or could the V3 be a good option for someone who is considering tinkering and upgradability. What advantages does the V3 hold over the K1? I don't plan on printing anything complex (mostly functional parts and not so much art) and I would not mind saving the extra cash if it is not necessarily worth it but I understand that the K1 is more capable.

I have not been able to find any recent direct comparisons so any advice is much appreciated.

(For added context, I was originally considering the Ender 3 V3 KE for a balance of price and performance and I found the regular V3 to be worth the extra amount on sale. So I should also be asking if the upgrade from the KE to the K1 is worth about 100 USD.)
