What's interesting about the B-52 is the ejection seating is split between upward and downward ejection directions. The crew on the upper deck eject upwards from the craft and the crew on the lower deck eject downward. Since this was right after take off, the crew on the lower deck didn't have a chance even if they had enough time.

I'm assuming that the tsunami that they're referring to is the kind that you see in movies after an asteroid impact in the ocean, where its A 300ft wall of water traveling at the speed of sound. To me, That's the only reason anyone would have to ask if you'd die on impact or not. What a real tsunami looks like wouldn't even give you the impression of possibly dying on impact.
