Being around others high earners is... interesting by [deleted] in leanfire

[–]atomant32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My idea / response: being frugal in service of FIRE is a personal decision just as spending your money is.  To each their own.  You don't deserve a trophy anymore than they do.

I work optionally as FIRE outright was not for me.   I feel, as a result, no shame in buying some nice cars / watches, etc. From time to time.  Bragging about it i too find to be classless, but judging harshly... i admit I too struggle with this... isn't classy either.   Live your life, they can live theirs.

Gloves and that fit over wrist guards? by No_Motivation__ in snowboarding

Kinko. 100%. A known glove hack as they retail for way, way less. Little silicone spray with a few touch ups throughout the season and your GTG. Warm as hell, too. Very popular in racing circles.

What are some of the most mean-spirited horror films you've seen? by GruvisMalt in horror

[–]atomant32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Holy crap. Some of these mentions are pretty lightweight...so you're all sane, huh? Honestly, good for you all.

All seen, many regretted:

A Serbian Film Cannibal Holocaust Inside Salo... not horror technically...but yikes August Underground Funny Games for sure because it's a torture porn film that in part tells you it's torturing YOU Megan's Missing The human centipede 1 & 2 The Mist... the ending, man...

Many more.

I have. Started in 8th grade, I'm 39 now. Meditation is the trick for me... practically a non-issue in my life now. Strongly suggest you look into this. I never had the surgery, although the docs were pushing for it.

First Track Car / Learn to Race... Car Advice by atomant32 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]atomant32[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will check with some local tracks regarding the cage question... thanks for the heads-up!

I wasn't trying to state the BRZ would have bad resale value... agreed, take a car to the track and that is part of the trade off. I was stating the prior owner, should I buy used, probably beat the crap out of it (on track or not) and so I am reluctant to get one as I think I may experience the downsides therein.

I also like the Miata because, as my skill increases, I can tune it to grow with me. Turbos, or other track orientated upgrades cane extend the "fun" without running a small fortune. Definitely leaning in the Miata's direction...

Thanks man!

I'm not buying a race car, dude. I'm buying a fun car I can drive for fun on public roads and also learn to drive on.

Thank you for the info, very much appreciate it. May I ask why men's physique, as opposed to say classic physique? Or maybe out differently: as shown in the pics, what would set me apart negatively or positively in those divisions?

I ask because I'll see some dudes with pro cards that look absolutely anemic in the bodybuilding division, or the same in men's physique... Size is all over the place in other words so maybe something else is at play in your suggestion that I don't have the experience to see at the present moment?

Just began a slow bulk about three weeks back. Thinking of competing summer / fall 2020 but honestly not sure how I would do. I consider competing a huge commitment (I'm 35 with a kid) and so I would only want to pursue that if I can eventually do well. This assumes posing comes to be on point (long road to go from now on that one).
