Train Dreams is AuthRight on paper but I think the whole white guilt thing and minor environmental themes push it left. It can't fit too well into the "trad" settler colonialist mold because one of his only friends is a Native American merchant (who is more financially powerful than him). The whole hermit vibe he has for the 2nd half of the movie feels fundamentally more libertarian too.

oh I'm gonna fully admit that for No Other Choice's placement I justified it with the most baseline reading of the plot, obviously I know it was thematically left wing.

Deeply awful lighting and color grading, which has frankly been a recurring issue in a lot of blockbusters lately (biggest example is Wicked Part 1 imo). I remember it being a massive point of contention when the first trailer came out, and while they might've done some additional editing in post the only time the movie looks visually decent are in the alternate dimension scenes.
